2007 Sport Non-JBL, the only speakers are in the doors. I've got a new head unit with tons of "features", but no significant increase in RMS or Peak power over the original Toyota/Pioneer CD changer.
The factory sound always seems to be coming from a "stage" at belly level. I want it to be "higher up" and more accurate. I suspect that this could be improved by installing moving tweeters to the 'A' pillers (just surface mount, not digging into the airbag stuff). The vertical orientation from the bass/mid front door drivers would be only slightly modified.
Instead of the current driver's side tweeter pointing low, and in front (at the left arm and steering column) it would point towards driver and center console. From the passenger side, I would probably point directly at the driver.
I have no concern with wires hanging out and "naked drivers" looking ugly - all I want is better sound quality. Are there better cheap alternative than this one?
