Getting adhesive off of body?

You can use something like automotive goo gone. I've used it in the past with good results. I caution to test in an area of paint that doesn't matter first though. Also, a very little bit soaking in goes a long way. I've had just a drop on a q-tip remove an entire bumper sticker. Just give it a second to work. (some *** wad put a Hillary sticker on my previous truck)

If you go this route, be very careful. Heat like that can hurt your finish. Gasoline will strip your clear coat right off. Just spend the $4 for the goo gone!

Yes, you need to get the thick stuff off, then use the WD 40 for the rest. I just kept at it with plastic scraper, take your time and just try to roll the thick stuff up without pushing against the paint to hard.
Some thin fish line will make the removal quicker. Be careful of the above advice if any of those badges were on chrome parts. The above chemicals are effective for painted body parts. Chrome coated plastic can very easily be damaged by any chemical.
Heat will make the adhesive come off easier. Heat up a section and use the plastic scraper. You can apply the adhesive remover to help break down the adhesive. WD-40 will not help at this point. Be careful of the adhesive as you are breaking it down. It will be really sticky and if you drop it, it will stick to anything it touches, other areas of the body, bumper, floor, shoes etc...
I would also advise against the eraser wheel. It is easy to damage the paint if you aren't used to using one. Shouldn't need that for a job this small. They are more for removing large graphics.

I would take some tape and outline the area to protect the surrounding paint.
Then take a heat gun (low heat) or blow dryer (medium heat) and wave it over the sticker for about 15 seconds (keep them both moving).
Then take a pencil eraser and rub off the sticker. That's why the tape is there, to protect the surrounding paint from the abrasive eraser. Rub for 15 seconds, then more heat, then rub again.
If this doesn't do much good, then goo-gone would be the next step.
If the goo gone take off most of it, but not all of it, go back to the eraser.
Don't be tempted by using a razor blade, although for uncoated glass that would be useful.

Acry-Solv. This stuff is the best! Use gloves and flush immediately with water once you remove the adhesive. Cleans up very quick and will not hurt your paint. I use it all the time. Also great to get tar off the paint from roadwork. Good luck.

I know this is probably a bit late, but it can be found at any auto body supply places near me. Another industry that uses a lot of it is glass/auto glass shops. We used it all the time when I worked in that field. I still buy it from the old shop I worked at because I have him order me an extra case. Great stuff to have around.
This is the best stuff you can possibly use to remove adhesive off anything. Won't harm your finish or paint and can be used on plastics as well.

Ten year old badges gone, but I've rubbed my fingerprints off trying to get the adhesive off. I'm using Goof Off and a hair dryer and it isn't working. Help.
