Getting back at it...

I used to actively mod my honda accord in college and thought i would eventually get over it. 10 years later, the mod bug is back i'm getting back it again. i would say i'm avg on the skill level so i don't usually take things apart. things i've ordered since last night:

- afe CAI
- Steelcraft bull bar and rear bumper guard
- winjet yellow fog light

things i'm still considering:

- easy way to re-route the exhaust to the side. i was going to get the gibson one since it's cheaper but realized i need to cut the pipes. Any suggestion on direct bolt system on that i can easily install myself for the side exit and don't need to go to a shop?

- still debating if i want to do the swaybar bushing and end link upgrade chris wrote up.

- any other suggestions? i try to go through the "easy weekend mod" and "what did you do with your 4runner today" threads but it's a lot to read....

haha... thanks guys...

haha yeah...

i forgot to mention that i didn't want to go with gibson because it's a rear exist system. i guess the only option is magnaflow for direct bolt on but it's fairly expensive. since i'm not really looking for sound and performance improvement, i was hoping i can just change the back end to side exist instead of the whole system...

yeah maybe that's the route i have to go with. any bay area folks around here know a local shop that does a good job? i live in oakland but work in san jose so anywhere in between will work.

HID headlights/fogs, I got a set from KBCarStuff, they're a sponsor on this site

LED Interior Lighting, got the entire set on EBay, 2 map lights in front, 1 cabin light in the center, 1 cargo light in the rear, all 4 door lights, and 2 for the sun visors, all for $20!

Here's the listing:
10 x White LED Lights Interior Package Toyota 4Runner | eBay

I got them in hyper white, but I believe he also has them in Blue & Red as well.

Best 20 bucks I've spent on my car!

Golden Auto, they have a location in Daly City and another in San Francisco. Had them install a muffler, deleted resonator, and custom a side exit tail pipe. But any muffler shop should be able to do it for you, pretty easy job for any decent muffler shop

Thanks guys.

I paid $80 and moved my exhaust to the side. I also installed the afe cai and i'm loving it. i noticed it's louder around 2000rpm than 3000rpm. it quiets down then gets loud again around 4000rpm.

i also noticed it's not as loud from standstill if i drive normal. if i'm just cruising and gas it a bit, then it's louder than from dead stop. is this the same with you guys? i just wanted to make sure i installed everything correctly.

i was trying to install the steelcraft bull bar but the bolts won't come off. bought some spray to loosen them so will try again tonight. will also change the fog lens to yellow ones.

steelcraft rear bumper guard is back-ordered everywhere so probably won't get those in until sept.

what' next? :)
