Getting "shop lifted"

I think the time has come to get a a lift on my rig (04 sport V6). I've read enough posts and it seems easy enough --- but the main thing that it is very time consuming. I simply don't have the time on the weekends to do this myself. Lately I've been so pressed for time that there is no way I could give up even a single day to do the lift. Has anyone here had any experiences with taking a runner to a shop and having them do the lift? How much should I expect to pay, and how long do you think it would take them to do it? Any suggestions?

One shop around me 'didn't want to touch' the XREAS system.

I have seen a Toyota dealership in San Antonio that will install the Revtek lift, I believe they were charging something like $100/wheel.

Goto the respected lift manufacturers website and do a search for their distributors.

Is that SD, San Diego or South Dakota?

Thanks for the info. I suspected the XREAS could be an issue. I'm in San Diego.

Most commercial shops have a spring compressor that is similar to a bench vise. They completely remove your strut pack and do the compression. For the XREAS, you have to keep the shock/strut attached to the vehicle and manually use spring compressors, which are alot harder and require more effort.

Prolly why they didn't want to touch it. Too much labor.

I wouldnt want to know what they would charge in labor, I did mine in a day with of course breaks and such and taking my time. The front is more difficult than the back due to having to compress the springs.

You'd be surprise how many members live in the SD area that will be willing to help you out with the install. I suggest you setup a wrenchathon and provide some food/drinks and people will flock to help you out.

I would guess a $100 and inch or so depending on the shop.
