Glass repair

I've got a few chips in my windshield and one of them looks like it might want to spread. Are there any good do it yourself kits out there?

I got a quote from safelite for $179!!! I've bought a whole 4runner windshield installed for $220 a few years ago. Just looking for options.

That price is ridiculous. Where I used to work we got the chips fixed all the time fore $40 or so. Now we were doing a lot of them, but we weren't getting a 450% discount.

Call your insurance company, and see if they won't cover it. More than likely they will, as preventative maintenance. Even with liability insurance only, I was able to get safelite to fix mine for free.

Yeah, I remember the price being around $30 or so per chip about 6 years ago. I know everythings went up but triple the price???

It's $179 for 3 chips and $99 for 1

Liability too??? I bet geico wouldn't but I'll ask anyway.

Safelite prices are ridiculous....I've called around and found a place that will do it for $45.
