Gobi Ladder Question

I have this beautiful 99 limited 4Runner with a different roof rack and really looking into getting a ladder and had a few questions aimed at the folks who have the ladder

First of all, I have seen plenty of photos but anyone have specifically a pic of one in silver like mine (or better yet anyone wanna photo shop a ladder in there for me?)

2nd, how easy/long was it to install. I read somewhere it can take a few hours?

3rd. In some peoples photos it looks almost like it gets in the way of where you stick the key in to open/close the rear window, can anyone confirm it does not get in the way?

I'd like to see a close up shot of how the ladder installs as well. I've been wanting one but have been hesitant.

From what I've seen it take like 5-10 mins max to install. All you have to do is slide it onto the hatch at the top and bottom and tighten some screws.

Can someone please show a picture of how it attaches to the top on the inside as well as the bottom? I have those lights on the roof wired through the 3rd brake light area and want to make sure it wont be in the way. I also have a backup camera (hard to tell in pic) but its just left of where it says "JAN" and will probably need to be moved.

That's the same combo I'm looking at for the roof rack and ladder. It looks really good. Is any drilling required to install the ladder? I'm not a fan of drilling into the body for obvious reasons...

It is a Whitson Rack

No drilling at all... It is all clamped down at the bottom and at the top using the lip of the edges of the hatch

Wow, that's a really easy install. And $250 for the ladder is a good price too.

Does someone have a photo of the rear hatch open showing exactly how the ladder attaches on the bottom?

Does it interfere at all with the roof-mounted rear spoiler?

I had the same experience with Gobi, was promised 6 weeks and it took 12 to ship.

The story I got from them was that they make them in batches depending on demand and so that's how they determine the timing.... A few terse phone calls sped it up slightly towards the end

I'd also like to see how this ladder clamps down to the rear hatch, just got me a rola vortex roof basket and been interested in this ladder, just not sure how the whole set up works,

The concept is that the upper plate folds over and spreads your body weight across a wide area vs drilling through the tailgate and the force being put on bolts which would eventually wallow out. How it clamps looks to be a couple of screws that put pressure on the body panel (enough to hold it securely) and then the plate takes the brunt of the weight.

I want one of these bad boys so badly but don't have a need to get a full length roof rack because I only carry surfboards/kayaks up there. Would it look a little weird with 50 inch Thule crossbars instead of a full length roof rack?
