Budbuilt is coming out with one soon but looks a bit pricey. Shrockworks will probably have something once the 6th gen 4runner comes out. CBI is working on something I hear. Outdoorlogic (riverside) is working on one for my vehicle right now. Nothing is on the market yet but should be seeing stuff coming out very soon.

Tempting...does the ladder require drilling into the bottom of the liftgate? I'll also have to confirm that it won't hit my bajarack when the liftgate is opened.

After reading directions from the past gen 4runners and fj's, the ladder requires no drilling.

It goes where your sunroof is so it has a bottom to the rack instead of the opening. This insert is removable and not a permanent option.

I emailed Sandra some questions a few days ago before deciding to order or not but got no reply so maybe somebody here knows or can get a answer from her:

1. Is it possible to order with no 'Gobi' decal on the wind screen?
2. What is the price for the PIAA 2100xt lights. Is it prewired for 4 fronts?
3. Does the ladder need to be removed to open the rear door on the 2011 4Runner?

I'm also wondering how one would run the wires into the truck if adding front lights. Speaking of front lights, would you guys do all 4 white or 2 white and 2 fog?

I can help a little.
I will be installing my Gobi Stealth tomorrow, but I have the lights wired and ready to go. I went with 4 Hella ff75 driving lights. Fogs would not be a good choice on the roof because the beam pattern would cause more hood glare. The wiring runs up both sides from the front to the rear of the rack. It is rather small- I used both the left wires as my hot lead and both the rights as my ground, which will go to a ring terminal under one of the rack bolts. I will run the wire into the truck like I ran my CB cable- you can see that in this link-

As far as the Gobi sticker- I removed mine first thing- peels off with no residue- so that's really not an issue.

Went through the car wash today with my bajarack and it didn't rip the thing off...no issues. Your experience may differ (legalese)

Gobi sunroof insert

I am considering getting both the ladder (which looks great) and the sunroof insert (which I have not been able to find a picture anywhere including the Gobi web site).

Does anyone have a picture of the sunroof insert that they can post? Anyone have the sunroof insert that can provide their feedback on the product?

I love the idea as typically I will not need the extra footage on the rack and would like to use the sunroof (even though I seldom use the sunroof) but sometimes I desire all the rack I can get.

That vehicle with the ladder on it looks similar to............ Now, to answer a coule questions and help GOBI out with all the emails they have been getting

1. Is drilling required? No
2. Are you able to open the lift gate without removing the ladder? Yes, the lift gate functionality does not change
3. Will it work with the Baja rack? After looking at Sam I ams and mine next to eachother, it looks like there is enough room for it to fit. We could not test it since she has the lights on the back of her rack
4. Will it work with lights on the back of the GOBI? Yes, there are light mounts on the GOBI, so no issue with it hitting.
5. Does it work with a rear tire carrier? Looks like it would work with Sam I ams, but no conformation.
6. Is it strong? Yes, I can jump up and down on it

Also, the GOBI axe and shovel mount (which has already had pictures posted) is top notch in case you are considering one.

How about the pneumatics for the lift-gate door? Will it still raise by itself with the ladder installed or does it require some assistance with the weight of the ladder on it?
