Gobi Rack Promo Sale

I'm so close to pulling the trigger on a Gobi rack. My concern is the following:
I really just want a long, flat, mesh rack. I have no interest in getting a roof top tent but I'd love to just climb on top, throw out a soft pad and a sleeping bag and just lay on my roof.
But as pictured here (circled in red) this bar would most definitely be impeding my comfort.

And also; despite having a Trail edition, I do have a sun roof, so I'd be getting a sun roof insert. Would this rack not work in conjunction with my sun roof? Thanks in advance!

Or alternatively, if someone could recommend me a long flat mesh racking system that could work in part with my sun roof, that'd be much appreciated. I never new about gobi's poor service and misconduct amongst other members but it's honestly just a superior looking rack to Baja's IMO. Although I am unfamiliar with PINSU, Whitson Metalworks, or Camelback Metal Gear racks but if they are along the lines *or still in business* I'd gladly throw my money at them rather than Gobi.

Hey SL.UG, there are a few ways you can have the rack customizable. I have removable cross bars, full mesh floor, and the sunroof insert. So I run with the rails on and the insert off, and adjust as necessary. Hope this helps!

Great! From what I saw in another photo was that the cross bars definitely didn't look removable but that's rad to hear that they are. Great news. Thanks!

No, this is the guy who made his own racks that looked better than Gobi's, were priced better than Gobi's, built of higher quality than Gobi's and ran by someone with higher ethical standards than Gobi's. They looked similar in that they were made out of tubular steel, it covered the roof of the 4Runner, and most people painted them black.

There's also someone called infidel garage or something making similar racks. Someone better tell him to watch out...I've been up close to these super ultra primo products and anyone who says workmanship is top notch, don't know fabrication.
