Yeah, turbulence. At 60-80mph, it's quite notable..
I do wonder how things will change once my ko2s are on, too

What kind of wind noise are we talking about? High pitched whistle? Just the sound of turbulence? Low pitched hum?

Yes. Same for me. Turbulence at high speeds. Starts to be notable at about 50mph. I would love to know what others have done to address this. Not in a big hurry... but have on the list for a future project.

Didn't get a call last week. Here's to hoping I get one this week. I'm in no hurry though. I'd like to install the roof rack at the Southern Style front bumper and wench at the same time and I'm still waiting on the front bumper.

I have gotten used to the noise. Or just crank up the radio. I have the Gobi and KO2. It did add noise and cut my milage down to 15.7 and now I have the bumpers. Will see how that goes

Should be interesting lol. I was averaging 16.9 MPG (70% city / 30% highway, using dash computer, only reset before going on long journeys) before any modifications.

Without changing my driving style (borderline grandpa), upon putting on 285/70-17 Duratrac, Shrockworks F&R bumpers, engine skid plate, and lifting 3" (OME), I'm now down to 15.0 MPG average.

When I add BudBuilt sliders and the Gobi rack, it'll be interesting to see how much lower it goes. haha

The noise problem stopped bothering me after a while. When I put the shocks and coils I did not redo the alignment initially. But then after I did the alignment at the dealer it made a huge difference in reducing the road noise. Obviously that was contributing to the loudness. I just changed my wheels from a +18 offset to a -12 offset. I think I may try a realignment next time i am at the dealer.

As long as gas stays around where it is now, I will continue to ignore the mileage

So I know this isn't the place for this but I figured I would ask here first. When removing my old rack I got the last corner and once I pulled the bolt out I hear a "clink clink". Oh shit, the bracket that the rack bolt to fell into my roof. After about an hour of fishing I finally got it back however the "plastic tubes" are gone. Now maybe I have it in there upside down, but I don't really want to take the risk of loosing it again to try and flip it. The question is how important are the plastic tubes, do they have any purpose other an alignment. If not I was going to tack the bracket in place with some silicone over night so it does fall down again then silicone the crap out of it during install. 2nd question, the black rubber gasket seals are wider than the roof channel. Did you guys trim them or force them in.

Sounds like you have a one of a kind truck or you are using the wrong rubbers. There are 6 wider gaskets that go between the rack and the top of the gobi brackets. Then there are a lot more smaller gaskets which go between the roof and gobi bracket. The large plastic spacers that come with the rack are very important. They hold everything. The little plastic that lines the bolt holes in the roof, not sure home important that is but my guess would be that they are not too important.

I'll check it out later. I didn't look at all the parts as it got late after fishing for the bracket. It didn't seem like the plastic tubed were important. It. Seems they just keep everything centered but I wanted to check. When I heard that fall I panicked. I was able to get it back but looking down those small holes I wasn't able to see or retrieve the plastic sleeves.

I got mine installed today, just the rack. I'll do the faring and ladder tomorrow. I have some 3M film I want to put down before the faring. I had a hell of a time getting the corner on where my bracket fell it. I had to slowly build up each later one side at a time while re-threading the other bolt to hold it in place. I ended up siliconing the crap out of that hope, hopefully no leaks.

GOBI installed for me this am... wind noise at 75-80 mph is no where near as pronounced as i was expecting. Off to the mtns!

First let me say that I love my setup and appreciate the work jicko did and that we got a discount. But... We got 114 people in this group buy, does anyone else think the price should have been much lower than it was?

No, not really.
Would it be nice? Sure. Did I expect it? Not really.
Reality of it is that Gobi is not that big of a company; small businesses do not have big enough margin to give deep discounts.

Worth The Wait

I waited 16 weeks, but it was worth it. Rack is perfect, just installed it yesterday. Looks great, workmanship awesome and it is built like a tank. Mine has the metal mesh on entire bottom, which I think adds to weight. Nice to see a high quality product that lives up to the reputation!

Just called Gobi today and they said my rack is in packaging and should ship it today or tomorrow. I'm to wait for a call from the local freight company to arrange delivery date. So hopefully by end of next week it will be delivered.

I've left a bunch of email to TD and they stopped responding to email about a month ago. For those that are still waiting. Just call Gobi directly and give them your name and order #. They should be able to pull up your order info.
