Curious if ladder only orders in the second batch (I'm #136) have to wait for the entire first batch of racks to be completed before they get submitted. If the ladders are an in-stock item, it shouldn't effect those orders waiting for racks to be built.

I don't think you are doing anything wrong. I got the same thing. I think the messaging on the site isn't quite right.

They said free ladder, free deflector and free shipping. Either they forgot to include the free struts or we are getting a different deal? Or maybe the post isn't correct?

We are definitely getting a different deal then what they are running on the trail duty website. I'm just not sure the right way we are supposed to be ordering. I'm just gonna try to call the order in tomorrow.

I just re read the site from my computer and trail duty clearly says do not add the items to the cart and that they will add the items to the order....:doh:

Soo here is the million dollar question for everyone.

There is a local seller on craigslist who is selling his rack for $1100. I haven't seen it yet, but told him I would buy it. But I would have to rent a truck to get it and I may need to buy the transfer kit (which alone sells for like $90). I also won't get the "free accessory" but he will give me the support struts.

Do I buy new and get the free accessory + wait like 16 weeks? Or do I buy this guy's for $1100 for a rack with no accessory but still have to rent a truck and drive to him (like 45 mins away) to pick it up?

To me it seems like I am saving like only $150 ~ $200 if I buy used but I still don't get the free accessory.

It all depends on just how patient you can be. I would say buy new and wait but if you need it now and he's got what you want then jump on the deal.

Oh I'm patient. Definitely don't need right away. Plus if I buy new, I get the reward points. If I buy via craigslist, I'll have to pay cash. The more I think about it, I think I'm going to go new unless this guy really gives me a good deal (doubt it).
