Going after a ball joint

Going after a ball joint today, but can't get this piece of the steering knuckle off off.

Recommendations?

I used something like this. Mainly because I had one. I think there is a tool that works a little better that you can rent at Autozone.

Thanks guys. Found a tie rod puller. Worked like a charm!

Interested to see how this turns out, if you have trouble getting the knuckle disconnected...good luck with the joint

I did both of mine last week. I sprayed them down with PB Blaster and turned that 90 degrees so that steering stop was pointing outward. I supported the lower arm with the floor-jack and a couple of swings with a sledge hammer to the steering stop and that steering knuckle attachment came right off. The big ball joint kit from advanced auto / car quest made easy work of the ball joint.
