Going on 2nd ECM!!!!

We got the 4runner back this afternoon and so far everything seems to be running great, it seems as if theres a little better response also. Which would make sense since there was no air going to the throttle body. Thanks for your responses. Now getting back to enjoying the 4runner.

I know this is an old thread, and that the OP hasn't been on here in 6 years, but interested to know if throttle body issues with the 5th gen are a known issue (this is my first post, so I can't start a thread).

We bought a used 2016 LE with 35,000km (about 22K miles) 4 months ago. At idle (e.g. at traffic lights), it has started occasionally going into limp mode with the check engine and traction control lights coming on. From searches on this forum we initially thought it was the gas cap not being tight enough.

Took it in to Toyota, and got codes P0505, P1604 and P2111. They want $500 to clean the throttle body, and do a "power purge and induction service". I cleaned the throttle body myself (there was not significant carbon build up), but it's still going into limp mode.

Interested in knowing if that combination of codes has come up for anyone else, and whether all roads here lead to a new throttle body or ECM (I have read a number of threads on here about P2111 and throttle bodies, but most relate to 4th gen or early 5th gen 4runners).

Thanks.
