I know you guys are always looking.. these come up very often down her in Florida.. and not many people want 4WD way down here.. there’s just no place to take em off road. This is not my vehicle, I have no affiliation with it. Just putting it out there and recommend anybody looking for a RNR, look down here.. might be worth a drive. Like I said , I have seen numerous vehicles just like this.. I bought my son an 01 from original owner just a few months ago..

That is a good deal! About the drivers seat, if you plan on repairing
and you want to do it yourself check out U.S.Autoseatcover on Ebay.
I purchased two front seat bottoms from them 04-17, Oak color. I'm
real ticky about color matching, the color matches near perfect. Before
purchase spoke with them on phone, if you don't like send it back is what they said.
They are well made covers.
Read your post again, thought you bought it.

That's what would make me nervous too. When they say things like "Needs a little TLC!" and "some rust/corrosion", but don't include any photos it makes me very cautious. With all of the listed issues and the semi-low miles, it gives me the impression that it wasn't taken very good care of. But, it also wouldn't prevent me from investigating it further.

Again, I am not buying this, I bought one a few months ago.. This thread was informational PSA for people looking to buy..” we have A LOT of these down here. As far as “ some rust”.. these people live very close to the beach. Having said that, I have lived very close to the beach also, for many years. The salt spray gets on the vehicles and will cause surface rust on certain places..however it rains here all the time so it rinses the salt spray off.. salt spray from the ocean and salt dumped on the roads in winter are 2 different animals... you will not see rusted vehicles very often in South Florida.

Never heard anyone say "Buyer will need to go with me to DMV for final sale/exchange." Is that a Florida thing, what's up with that?
 
Looking at that, I bet I could easily sell mine for $5,500 if I wanted to down here in Texas. No rust, all maintenance items caught up with receipts, pretty clean considering the age and the off roading I do.

Not required by law.. but so many people down here buy cars, then don’t register them or get insurance. It’s a good way to cover yourself from further problems down the road.. my neighbor sold a car 5 years ago the guy never registered it and just this week he got a notice to appear because this guy was in an accident. So now he has to prove he isn’t the owner anymore.. he does have the bill of sale.. that’s the kind of great people we have here in the Sunshine State..

Makes sense. Here in CA the seller files a transfer of ownership and that removes their responsibility in the vehicle. Whether the buyer registers it is another matter, but the seller is not linked to the vehicle once they file the transfer. Guess that's one good thing about CA.
 
$5000 is a good deal on this 4runner?

Prices on these trucks seem to be all over the place. I constantly watch craigslist and see prices anywhere from 1800$ for shit boxes to 5000$ for a decent example. Makes me wonder what mine is worth... I really like my rig and not really interested in selling but if I could get anything close to 5G I'd really have to consider.

Probably to avoid car flippers and/or thieves... I once handed a $5 bill to a cashier in Tampa near USF, and she even checked it with a pen to make sure it is authentic! Never experienced it elsewhere!

I fully believe I could get 5k for mine if I were to sell it and it has 230k on it. Then again the tranny is rebuilt and its a 96.

But that's just me.:typing:
 
FL $runner

I just flew over to Cali to buy mine, 7800.00 w / 166k 1 owner ,soccer mom, all service records and no rust ,
a toyota dealership was actually selling it off of their lot as it was originally purchased there as well , I felt like I got a great deal even paying cali tax,

5000.00 though for the one in FL pretty sweet deal .
