Good deal or am I overpaying?

Kelly Blue Book has it listed at $15,000 for Very good condition. If it is in excellent condition then you are right in line. I would say it is a judgement call on your part but sounds like it is a fair price at minimum.

I just paid $11.5 out the door for an 05' V8 with 133k. TB and XREAS had been replaced at 111k. I'm putting about $2k into it to include spacer lift, LR UCA's, OEM LCA's, new calipers, rotors, pads, all the way around. Seems high to me.
Though I do have a have a pesky CEL P0012 that popped up that I am engaged with the dealer about though.
So we will see how good of a deal I really got. chompster4runner

It's always best to check blue book price and what other similar models selling in your area. Price is different in regions/states. Like where I'm from the 4x4s are hard to come by so they tend to be a bit higher.
Thanks all, yea after checking everything I'm thinking that this is overpriced and dealer is yanking my chain with the whole "none of our vehicles are marked up." I have it overnight, gonna get it checked out in the morning, but definitely taking it back and gonna make an offer for less.

Walk away. They may call you with a much better offer in a few days. I was just looking at an 08 with 124,000 miles. It was originally 16k, i went in and it changed to 15k, I took it for a drive, looked it over, but still walked cause i didnt really need it. I was just looking. They called back two days later and knocked another 1k off.
Walking away will likely bring you a better deal. If not there are always more out there. If the mileage was lower it might be worth that but over 100k i think the price is high. I saw another one 08 limited for 16k at a lexus dealer with 100k miles. That seemed like a decent deal but 17k seems high. Thats a 6 year old car.
Ah but i noticed you are in denver... colorado seems to be much higher priced when it comes to buying tacomas and 4runners...

I'd walk too. Take it back and tell them you're going to keep looking for something a little cheaper. They'll make you a deal on it, you just have to play it right. I would want to be around $16k OTD tops, assuming it's in great condition and needs nothing. You could offer $15k and just walk when they scoff at your offer. Just act like it's no big deal to you, you're in no rush to purchase.
I'd also walk. When I got my 08 (roughly a month ago), I got it for the same price but with 25k less miles. I've done very minor body work to it and it has some light scratches, but that's about it. Pretty clean inside and out with all maintenance records and was undercoated every year (so little to no rust underneath)
Yea I just got it checked out by a trusted mechanic and he told me it looks pretty good, but definitely needs differential, transfer case, and transmission fluid flushes, spark plugs replaces and an alignment soon. Also it shocks and struts will need to be replaced within the next year or so as its running on the original parts. I'm gonna take all this and all that help you all have given and say I'm willing to do $15 OTD but not much more. Then hold my ground.

In 2010 I paid $20k for my 06' V6 SR5 with 80kmi.
I sure as hell wouldn't pay $17k. I would say $14K MAX. I can get the same truck private in a private sell for $10k.
Just remember one thing when buying a car. They need to sell the car more than you need to buy it.

I know mine is 5 yrs older, but it is a good reference to what can be found.
2003 Limited with 41k for $15000. Everyone that sees my trucks can't believe it is an 03. Interior like new, No body rust (normal frame rust), but a couple minor fender issues from prior accident. No engine leaks, transmissions shifts smooooth. I am betting on this truck getting me to 200k for many years.
So do your research and make your decision on what's important to you.

Can you point me to the truck you are referencing for 10K? I'd buy a few of those. A 2008 4Runner with 109K for 10K? Show me the way.
Ended up walking away told them I would do 16.5 (15 for car 1.5k in taxes and fees) out the door and they wouldn't meet it. At one point they offered to fix everything my mechanic said was wrong if I paid sticker with TTL (about 19.5k cause tax in Boulder is stupidly expensive), but I told them I trust my mechanic and get warranty on his service and nothing on theirs. Stuck to my guns with 16.5 and GM wouldn't do it. Here's hoping they call back. If not I'll keep looking may be taking a trip to buy somewhere where it's cheaper...

Forget them. I think you made a more than fair offer. You are looking at what, about $600 in maintenance....depending on where you take it and then another $1200 for shocks and struts? Does it have XREAS? Run.....run far way. Your getting close to what, $21-22k?......... $15 OTD if not, then find one somewhere else. Nothing wrong with a one way flight and a little road trip to discover all the bugs.....just make sure you have AAA!
