Good Dealership in Dallas/ Ft Worth?

I have had great experiences with Toyota of Plano (it's really just up the tollway, not far away at all depending on where in dallas you are) ... and have also heard good things about Toyota of Grapevine -- they give discounts on parts to members of yotatech.com ....
Stay away from the following (based on my experiences there as well as the experiences of others):

The really nice thing about Toyota of Plano is that they keep their service department open until midnight most evenings, and seem to be great, honest mechanics / service writers.
If you plan on going in there, get in touch with James Wood at that dealership - he's a great guy and will help you out.

I'm actually over in the Fort Worth area near Fossil Creek... I think I will try Toyota of Grapevine, although they were about 10 dollars more than Freeman Toyota in Hurst for the alignment. Grapevine is open until 9 for service on weekdays.
Freeman Toyota jacked me around wanting 10 dollars more for an oil change with Toyota oil over Quaker State synthetic blend (no way I'd touch QS) and, after making an appointment for the alignment, they told me to "come back later." It didn't seem they really wanted my business.

go to Toyota of Richardson if you like, but I was trying to spare him from increasing his chances of being screwed over. There was a whole big thing about it elsewhere on the net, and anyway it is far enough away from him that he has some better options closer to where he lives.

Honestly, I didn't think too much of the dealer. After having my oil changed there, they tried to upsell me pretty hard, telling me that, at 38K miles, I needed a trottle body cleaning, fuel injector cleaning, and that my power steering fluid was "contaminated, " even though I have never even opened the cap. They also wanted to change my spark plugs, a $171 dollar service there! They brought out some girl to convince me to get the above service- someone who obviously didn't know squat about vehicle maintenance in general. The 30K, 60K, 90K mile service there is $519... I have seen other dealers charge $350 for it.
After the alignment at the dealer, my 4Runner still pulls to the right. They claim that it is tread separation on the tires- even though I have recently had a rotation. Even after driving the truck themselves, they agreed it was pulling but said "we can't do anything else"
So much for Grapevine...

I would also stay away from Vandergriff in Arlington. They totally botched up a job replacing a passenger side rear shock absorber. Sent them an email complaining, but got no respsonse. Correct thing would have been to keep pushing, but I live 50 miles away and can't affort the time to go back and bitch.

I'm a new member and also a proud new owner of a '98 limited.
I live in Fort Worth and saw your question about maintenance here.
I can't yet vouch for a local dealership, but I can give you an excellent recommendation for a small outside shop called Lexutech on 6th street west of downtown. They work on all Toyota & Lexus products and I've had nothing but good experience with them (they also run a place called Dealer Alternative for Honda & Acura products).
They do good work and significantly less $$ than a dealership.

30K Service a Sport City Toyota
STAY AWAY!!! First estimate came in at $500+ and that was without oil change, tire rotation and AC/Air filters. So, he removed the fuel injection flush and it came in at $472!!
I had stated that I wanted only what Toyota recommended on their website.
Looking somewhere else!

Is this place still around? Got their digits? Is this member still around? hahaha HOPE SO! I prefer the side shops specializing in specific models. Ive been a honda man for years until this 4runner and I knew a couple great honda shops.
Any other suggestions on local specialized, non-dealer shops in thee DFW area? Specifically for a 4x4 tune up on a 2003 V8 4Runner??? Asking for a lot, I know, but I cant help it...
