Good price for 99 Limited?

I live in az and my truck in the same year, model and color. No rust anywhere or even close to it. I live in the valley Tempe, phoenix area. Just you so guys know Northern Arizona is just as high as Denver and some places are even higher. I think Flagstaff is about 7200 feet. In other words some of az gets alots of snow. From the valley in az i doubt any car will have rust. Up north in az it will be just like any other state with snow.

Didn't know this, how much of a difference is it and what did they change to cause this?

99s sit the tallest, but after that they made them shorter, i think it was due to all of the rollover people was getting.

Didn't know that. What do you guys think of an all white 2002 4Runner? I've actually never fancied white but it looks good on this 2002 Limited, I can actually get it cheaper than the silver 2002 and it's got lower miles. I keep going back and forth but I want to make the right decision so I don't regret it later. Is it harder to maintain white, scratches probably show easily and it gets dirty quickly.

All white is actually kinda rare and if the mileage is right with the price and will suit your needs I don't think you can go wrong.

I bought the same model, 99 LTD 4WD for 11,000 about 6 months ago. The truck had 100,000 miles and came with a bike rack and a couple other small things. I was willing to pay more because it was 1 owner who took it to the dealer to fix everything and he had all the reciepts.

Speaking of which... does anyone know where I can get a front bumper flare? I was recently hit by a tow truck who had no insurance....

I would never buy a used car from a dealer. First of all, they're going to tell you exactly what you want to hear (rent the movie Used Cars for a comedic example). Rust spots or whatever on a car from Arizona? Give me a break. I bought my 98 limited used from a private party in Illinois, and now live in Boston, and the paint is fine. Look on Craigslist or in the Truck Trader. For that much mileage you should be able to get what YOU are willing to pay for it.

What interest rate are they giving you, or are you paying cash? You could use a home equity loan right now for two reasons. First, the interest is tax deductible, and second, the prime rate is on its way down thanks to the dumbass investment bankers on Wall Street.

I'm paying cash and have a trade-in, I placed my trade-in on craigslist/autotrader you name it and pretty much got what I am getting for from the dealer as trade, this also helps out my taxes (which is 0 because my trade-in is worth more than the used car I am buying).

I know this is probably the wrong forum to ask this but while I was searching I found a 2004 4Runner Limited V8 with 66K miles for $16K, this seems like a hell of a deal to me considering a lot of the 2002's were in the same price range. I checked out the vehicle and it is in pristine condition, nothing wrong with it and that V8 is awesome. What is the deal with these 4th gen's, are they not as good? You see them all over the place, I like the added interior room and especially the power and smoothness of the drivetrain.

I think that price is a little high due to me just purchasing my first 4Runner. I bought a 2002 Sport Edition super nice 117k for $9,000. Since you have been looking for one for a while, I would be patient, unless this is the one you really want.

Hey I don't mean to hijack this thread, it has similar interests in mind. I am in the market for a 2002ish 4runner. I like the sport... because it has a scoop.... What is so great about the limited? Basically What are some options type things you guys think I should look out for? Im hearing talk of locking difs? Lower ride height years than others? I plan on taking this thing in snow and light off roading with ARB in the back of my mind, so that might negate the importance of a locking dif, correct? I would also consider getting different springs if thats all that dropped the newer ones. Im trying to stay close to stock wheels though for mileage purposes.

Oh and i have an old crappy nissan 4x4, hate it with a passion, but I bought wheels and tires for it. Do you guys know if thats the same bolt pattern? Im pretty sure its 6 lug.

3rd gen 4runners are 6x5.5, and the biggest tires factory you can fit will be 265/75/16.

00-02 are the ones with the low springs, 99 being the tallest

the good thing about Limiteds they are the more luxurious 4runner model. Power everything, leather seats, woodgrain, moonroof, and things like that. Also they have side molding unlike the sr5s.

not sure i can answer your arb question, but the locking diffs. are something great to have on your 4runner.

I would recommend making sure that is a legit deal. Just because the Carfax comes back clean does not necessarily mean that the car is. Double and triple check that it is not some kind of a flood/salvage vehicle. Some states (like TX and NJ) have some weird laws (READ: lenient) on what is considered "salvage".

It just does not make sense that a $32k Toyota would go down in value by 40% in 3 years. But if it's a legit deal, that is a steal.

I had it checked out by a Toyota dealer before purchase and they found nothing wrong with the vehicle. It was a Saturn dealership that had gotten the car in on trade and it had been sitting there for a while until I came in, took it out and had it checked, then negotiated the hell out of them.

It was funny. it's a saturday and I was the only one in at that Saturn dealership. I guess it maybe because its the last day before ski resorts close, or car sales are slow due to economy issues or people just flat don't like Saturns. Whatever the reason, I got a heck of a deal on this car. Haven't been able to get pictures yet, will do it first thing tomorrow.

My folks have an 04 Sport V8 and I can def notice the power increase between my 05 with VVT-i and their non VVT-i V8.
