Good price for Delphi XM satellite radio and install?

My wife and I are also interested in the satelite radio. I will be traveling this summer from upstate New York to lower Alabama, courtesy Uncle Sam, and thought that the radio would be a great idea.
Few questions:
What does the FM Modulator do and is it required
What is the best system available
Is the Delphi easy to install, or do you really need it installed by someone else, and what exactly are they installing
Is it better to go with the type that pushes the feed through the tape deck/cd player, or is it better to just change out the entire sytem.

And for those of you interested in XM, definately get it. I've driven from Atlanta to Cleveland, OH, Orlando, Virginia and never had a single problem with reception /w the exception of Orlando. There was one strip on the highway that another radio station attempted to take control, but that lasted for about 2 minutes, other than that, never had a single problem.

Terk Commander
I purchased the Terk Commander last week from Circuit City. I paid $134.00 and everything was included, the FM modulator, receiver, head display, and the anetenna. I get great reception and it was easy to install. The only thing I may change is the antenna, I may get the glass mount antenna, not so crazy about the magnet on the Runner.
If anyone wants a picture of the way I installed it let me know. My thoughts behind the Commander was I didn't want that cass. adapter and a big display unit.
