Good replacement for rear wiper?

I recently replaced the front wipers on my Runner with the Rain-X Latitude beam-type ones, and they work great. I'm hoping to similarly upgrade the rear one (which doesn't move water very well) but I haven't seen any beam-type blades small enough - the one on my truck is just under 13".

What do you guys use? Does this blade attach to the wiper arm differently than most? I had a quick look, but didn't want to tug on it for fear of breaking it. :beer:

Curiosity got the better of me, so I went out to the garage and removed the 2 screws that hold the blade assembly in place. After seeing how it goes together, it looks like OEM is the only way to go because there's no hook. I highly recommend the Rain-X wipers for the front, though.
 
thats funny cause i never used my rear wiper ever. last time i check it was disintegrating into small pieces.. i should probably change for that one day i "accidentally" use the rear wiper.

then again i live in hawaii where we dont have snow or much rain.

Took a couple tries but there are "universal" ones that will fit. Now if I could just get the spring tension high enough so that it wipes to top half of the wiper path!
 
Typically, the spring In the arm gets stiff from lack of use. Hit it with some PB Blaster or some penetrating oil and work the arm back and forth to free it up. That, along with a new blade, will help a lot.

If you take the arm off and do that, it works even better. The hinge can then be worked PAST the point where the blade contacts the glass. This allows good pressure ON the glass when you put it back on. What happens is crud hardens right at the point where the blade is on the glass so it loses pressure right at that point, even though it has pressure when pulled back from the glass.

What I did was roll the window down and put it back on the spline temporarily pointing vertically so I could really lube it and work it.

Where do you live? We have established Texas and Hawaii don't need them, but those of us with snow and lots of rain find them useful.

Don't know if they have upgrade rear wipers, but www.wipers123.com is a good place to lookup options. If they don't list something normally you have to go to the dealer.

I'll also throw out there that the trico neoform beam blades work awesome on the front - much better than rainx and bosch imo
