Good tires for my T4R

i got a 95 T4R and have goodyear wrangler rts tires that it came with...but i want new tires before winter...i want something a little more agressive but good in the rain cuz i have it on the st. 98% of the time...any suggestions let me know thanx

Go with the Pro Comp... I have the least aggressive ones on mine, highway use is awesome, rain is no issue... I live in FL... tested weekly!

Also good in the sand, I go to the beach and rarely need 4wd.

i heard that the bfg a/t were junk....and i heard the procomp A/Ts werent that great either...i work at a parts place n we sell procomp and some people that have them dont like them b ut these are ppl with full size american junk pick up trucks...the procomp a/ts seem to b ok to me

It all depends on what you do w/ the truck. Mine is mostly highway/around town, with occasional trips on the sand. No serious off-roading (I have my Jeep for that).

I couldn't be happier.

I currently have BFG TA KO's and we have run them on our runners for years. They are of course popular and they do last a very long time (70-80k for us). That is the biggest reason I got them again on the new runner, is that I didn't want to spend 1000+ on some mudders that aren't going to last that long on a daily driver (30-40k). There are definitely better tires out there for offroading but in my experience I have been really happy with the BFGs. Anyway...I am being general here...but that was my humble opinion.

Since most everyone will have their own opinion and think that I am totally wrong Check out the 4WD Toyota Owner Mag for Sept/Oct 08. They just recently published a 6 page Tire Guide. They published I think just about every tire available in there. They contacted a bunch of the tire companies and basically asked for their info on their off-road tires. So it isn't a rating system but it is a single point of reference where they seemed to cover every brand and model of tire available. There are at least 40 different tires in there so it would be a good place to take a look if you want to see what the tires look like and maybe get an idea of where to start if you aren't sure.

I think Petersons also does a rating system but I don't remember when they publish it....I haven't gotten through all my mags...I believe they have published their annual tire size issue "what fits" again. I haven't read it yet or I could tell you more...guess I need to bring that copy with me to the office to look at on my lunch hour.

My t4r came with BFG's AT with 75% tread. I have since put on 65000 km's. There good in the dirt, there tough, not so good in winter whwn half worn out. I require tires before winter and not sure what to buy.
