I've had mine on since October of '09 and they are one of the best tires I've driven on in 20 years and wouldn't hesistate to get another set. Just had 'em doing some rock crawling and puddle jumping and they were out performing the Super Swampers on a current Jeep when they got wet as my truck hardly struggled and the jeep needed a few tries to get over the same rocks as I did but coulda' been the driver too.

I do have the C rated version in the +1 size since E would be really rough on the street with a 4000lb truck and I keep them at 36psi and haven't had any issues with them and they are wearing pretty well after about 17k miles.

Air down? I never thought about it and left them at 36psi for that trip but normally I might air down to 24-26psi.

What is the stock tread depth of the DuraTracs in the 265/70/17 size?

I just had mine rotated today and they were around 16/32. I've had them for almost two years.

According to Tirerack's site, 18/32" in all sizes. That's pretty decent wear!:hatsoff:

Yeah, that's what I saw too.

If it's true then I'm impressed. Although that is probably no more than 20,000 miles, it's still pretty good wear.

Any new updates. I have Toyo A/Ts but I'm thinking of getting some Duratracs.

I'm sure you've already found something but for other folks considering these tires, I just bought some today for a 2012 4Runner TE. This is a very early report but I actually like the firmer feel of these E loads. Feels more like a truck and less like a Camry. There is a slight hum in the 60-70 mph range but it seems to disappear at 70. On any really long trip where the hum might be a problem, I'd be cruising at 79MPH so I don't think road noise will be a problem. Like I was saying, I like the feel so far, no 'boat' handling, better feeling than the stock Bridgestone Duelers (I think it was). It looks like they have cost me 1/2 mpg according to the trip computer which may be affected by a different tire but in any case it was a minor change in MPG. As you can see from previously posted photos, the look is great. I've got a 2 hour road trip tomorrow and will post any news.

I just did about 3000 miles in a week and a half. Mild weather and nothing offroad unfortunately. In rain so hard that I could not see the road, I didn't experience any hydroplaning or other loss of traction. Before we left, at about 5000 miles, there was a noticeable (I didn't measure it) difference in edge tread depth between front and rear and I had the tires rotated.

At frequent interstate speeds of around 79, the tires performed well with no vibrations or noise. I increased the air pressure to about 38 for such a long distance trip and gas mileage was around 19 MPG.

Sorry to hear that anyone is having a problem with these that a good balance won't correct.

(And the tires do have a pretty noticeable affect on the look of the truck.)

since this is back up top i thought i'd report in, i have around 38~40,000 miles on mine as it stands (i get confused from mileage swapping between trucks, see sig)....

here's my take so far, they still look great and wear is nice and even, been doing tire rotations to match oil changes.

about 3~4 months ago i noticed them to start to get a little loud and started to lose a bit of traction in the rain, i took them in to get them siped to help quiet them back down and get some of that wet road traction back, let me just say at about 40k on them they still have oodles of tread left and have always been nothing less than stellar for condition that i may be in, when i say i lose in wet traction it was still better than most bfg's i've ran in the past when new, there was never any sense of lose of control or anything, it would just peel out when i floored it on wet roads, when new it was basically impossible for me to peel out, so more or less, the siping i just did was really me being a bit weird and wanting that tacky feeling when in the rain again, even without that they still stuck very very well.....it's just something i do, wait till the tire is at about 50% or so and the sipe. :driving:

yeah, so in short, zero complaints , have been around the western usa 3 times in every environment and condition afforded to us in the western us and they have always ,always, done their job and done it well. i will be buying another pair when these die, but may consider a different load range

I have had 2 sets of these tires and i gotta say i would buy another set. I am currently running 265/75/16 E rated Duratracs on my 99...i have put ALOT of highway miles on these tires so far...around 25k if not more.like many people have said they wear nice and even.

...Right now, I have one DURATRAC that has a PLUG in the sidewall...(new one will be in tomorrow FINALLY!!) I know you shouldnt plug a sidewall, but this tire has not LOST ANY AIR..and i have driven it around more than should!! :lookout:...

16,000 miles on mine. No problems at all! It only takes one bad tire to cause an issue.

i will say that ive had 2 sets but upgraded size and went with trail graps. i think im going to go back to the d tracs after this set. only have put 2500 miles on the nittos. i dont think any other tire could beat the goodyear d tracs.

First time poster here, and unfortunately not a 4runner owner............yet. When my little Sidekick sells, I will be searching down a nice Gen3.

Anyway, just thought I would chime in as I have a set of C rated 245/75/16's on the Zuk and they have been great after almost 10k miles and still look new. Here in the high desert they perform surprisingly well in the soft sand. They are just now starting to hum a bit at freeway speeds. I got them a couple of years ago at Discounttiredirect, which was the cheapest I found them. I wouldn't hesitate putting the one whatever 4runner I end up getting. Here are mine on the Sidekick...............just don't laugh. :bigok:

Anyone get these in 315/75/16? My KM2's are about to die at nearly 25k, but they are so dang expensive. These tires seem to last quite a while, which would be great for me since I drive all over the country. Sounds like heavy use on tough rocky trails is a no go, with how weak the sidewalls are. Anyone on here want to chime in who wheels these hard in the rocks?

I bet OP didn't have those tires balanced on a road force machine, because the only time I hear complaints of balance/vibration issues, they're usually followed by "what's a road force?"
I'm way excited to get these on and post up the results.

Have had mine since Oct. '09 and have 25k miles on them now and I have been a bit lazy about rotations and they have a little wear on the edges on the fronts but overall still wearing well despite my lack of rotation and really don't think about them much since they do well on dry and wet pavement and still are awesome in the snow even in 2wd.

The price going up sbstantially sucks since 3 years ago I got my C rated versions for $168/tire and out the door with replacement certs I totaled $868 and now that price would be $1145 for the same at Discount Tire. Better start saving.

Finally got a chance to test the duratracs out in the snow, it was super busy up this mountain and there was ruts in the snow that were basically melted and refrozen so it was like ice ruts. I did most of the day in 2wd the duratracs hooked up that well. It was slippery to walk on, I cant wait to get a bit further out.

You're right they were not balanced on a road force machine. I don't think any machine would have fixed the out of round though. The tires wobbled when spun like a bicycle with bent rims. The michelins I have on those same rims give me no issues.
