Thanks for adding so much to this thread. You must be so educated. Did you go to the college where they teach you how to waste everyone's time and make yourself look like a complete 16 year old online? Was one of their focal points to call people re****ed instead of using actual facts, or at least educated opinions?

Learn to use capitalization, especially if you are going to call people uneducated. One of the first steps in being educated, from a classical point of view, is learning basic reading and writing skills, which you have not mastered.

Brown people don't vote for Republicans for a specific reason. Because Republicans hate brown people and enact as many policies as possible to keep them from progressing.

Clarification, I meant your racism problem by being a member of the Republican party. Should read "their" racism problem, but since I was writing singular, I wrote "your", when I meant "your" party.

I won't be calling any of them childish names, however. I won't be making broad, prejudiced statements about the people in a given political party in their entirety, either. They are all adults (or if they at least act like adults) I can respect for following their convictions, and trying to make a positive difference. Whether I agree with their methods/ideas/ideals or not.

Spying on your own people is ridiculous. As bad as this sounds, having another 9/11 potentially happen doesn't justify what both administrations have done or supported as far as taking away our day to day rights.

Lets try and have a productive conversation regarding race and the Republican party.

In 1984, Ronald Reagan received 37 percent of the Hispanic vote. Two decades later, George W. Bush, running on a Texas-grown record of inclusiveness, boosted that figure to 40 percent. But in 2008, Arizona Sen. John McCain received only 31% of the Hispanic vote. With the exception of George W. Bush, since the 1980s, Republicans in the southwest have been free-riding the Reagan Wave with little effort to recruit Latinos. As a result, and even though Texas has voted Republican in the Last 6 presidential election, if the current Latinos voting trends continues–within 2 presidential elections–Republicans will not be able to keep Texas Electoral votes; and thus, without Texas, the national Republican Party will not be able to elect another Republican president in the near feature.

not really. major metropolitan areas here (houston, dallas, san antonio, austin) as well as counties closer to the border of mexico always go democrat. that's just the way it is. however, the rest of the state is red. even if the latino vote did put the popular vote in the democrats favor, that isn't how things work. the electorates have the final say - and seeing that texas has given a total of $20 million to republican campaigns and only $4 million to democrats, i'd be willing to bet money that (at least this year) texas will be red.

as far as statistics go, here's texas in the 2004 election:

yeah there are a few more blue counties, and i'm gonna be "THAT GUY" and say that it's more or less because the democrat running was black. maybe orack barama will win the same counties this year? maybe one or two more? not really sure, doesn't seem likely, but we'll have to see.
