It is not a clip; but rather a magazine. The size of them was limited to ten rounds by the phony assault (sic) weapons ban for about a decade, but that ban has expired. Some politicans wish to bring it back, but it will fail for two reasons.
First of all, there are plenty of 15- and 20-round magazines in circulation and the ban only applied to "new" ones. Second, it is very easy to banana clip most types of two ten-rounders; and it takes less than a full second to invert it when using an AR-15 or other such rifle.
Regarding D!ck Cheney, I would still rather go hunting with him than driving with Ted Kennedy.

Much of the "gun control" stuff is fought on the sidelines. Far too many people (including politicians, unfortunately) do not even know which end of the tube the round exits and could not correctly define an 'assault rifle' if one were sitting right in front of them right next to a cosmetically similar semi-automatic version. They'll spend all their effort talking about how evil the instrument used in a crime might happen to be, while doing nothing about the criminal who would wield such a device.
Should Obama be re-elected, he will likely appoint at least two more justices to the Supreme Court -- and you know they're not going to be friends of the Second Amendment. If he gets even a slim majority in Congress (doubtful, but possible), the "gun control" nuts will come out of the woodwork with new schemes to make gun ownership more cumbersome, more expensive and less appealing.
Regarding the results in SC, I am not surprised. Newt is a 'Southern Boy' from Georgia (yes, I know he hails from PA - but that was long ago) and his rhetoric (if not all of his legislative action) appeals to those who might find Romney too Yankee or too liberal.
We now have Santorum winning Iowa (even if belatedly), Romney taking New Hampshire and Gingrich coming out on top in South Carolina. Onward they go to Florida, I guess.
