Btw I wouldn't recommend HIDs in your highs, the on/off switch done with high beams is just going to ruin them. HIDs are meant to be left on for extended periods, flicking them on and off is just gonna ruing them quickly. and like rebelbowtie said, 8000k is going to be purple and very ricey.

I dunno $50+shipping? I only ran it for 2 weeks, didn't like the way a muff sounds on the V6. It's just a muff btw, not the full system.

I will.. .but it was basically just sand, clean with paint thinner, wait 15-20min, spray with primer 2-3 coats, spray with satin black rustoleum.

I also put some black magic skateboard grip tape on for traction when getting at the roof rack but you have to be careful because in the wrong place they will scratch sh!t out of your legs, maybe cause bleeding. I got in and out of the 4runner several times and put masking tape over where my legs rubbed then used the grip tape on the rest.

gripe edit- why do we have smiley that says 'sh*t happens' but we can't type 'sh*t' (obviously with an 'i' instead of '*')
 
For HID's these are my side by side comparo of 6000k and 5000k. IMO the Chinese kits are good enough of you're doing a drop in kit. I've ran HID's for years and some of my kits outlasted the trucks I had and swapped them into my next truck. If you aren't swapping for projectors or already have projectors the benefits of true German Phillips bulbs and ballast are wasted. Most kits don't produce the advertised wattage, but supposedly the really expensive ones do, but halogen head lamps just scatter the light everywhere with no focus.

Gaterose, Do you have a video or sound clip of the muffler on your V6? I may just jump on a good deal! :frog:
 
I know this is going to get groans from you all, and sounds boring as hell compared to all the other suggestions, but what about normal maintenance?

I dont know what your mileage is, or how well you maintain the vehicle, but I usually have a little angel & devil on my shoulers when i come into some dough. I could EASILY go and buy toys, but then there's the angel saying, "you have a such-and-such mileage intervel coming up! AND it's going to require all the fluids changed!"

annnnnd let the flaming and disliking begin! lol!

Couldnt agree more. My suggestion goes to required maintenance and put the rest in savings for a rainy day. If you're not off roading, then most everything here is totally pointless (sliders, bumpers, etc). I agree it looks cool, but definitely wouldn't be my focus for something that spends 95% of the time on road.

If you're dead set on mods, my suggestion would be a roof rack and catback exhaust. Something like the rola rack would give you a good bit of extra room for carrying stuff and the exhaust could give some minor (stress minor) performance gains along with a nice exhaust tone. Something like the Gibson would be my choice. Both of these could be done for under $600. With the rest you could do the body lift you've been talking about.

Check out Xenon Depot Extreme HID kits. Great quality, fair pricing. I highly recommend the complete Magnaflow Cat-Back exhaust kit. 22" muffler and a great growl without being overwhelming.
 
On the Xenon HIDs, we need the H11s correct? What about for the fog lights? I'll probably do 6000K, just haven't decided yet.
