Standing by for details. I'd need to do some research on the group 31 specs too, as I was originally planning on going full size for my 2nd battery and using the typical location on the passenger side

I haven't measured it, but it certainly seems sufficient for the job. If you torque down to hard on the j-hooks, it will bend out the side a bit, but that's a pretty good indication that you are overdoing it in my mind.

With the OEM battery tie-down I was able to twist the battery by hand.... with this cage I can sway the truck, but the battery stays put. As mentioned; I'm pleased so far with the product. I'll provide an after action report when back from my western trek.

Anyone wanted to call a spot for a possible group buy yet? The normal MSRP is $125, so it should come in under that.

Full Disclosure: I have nothing to gain from assisting Pelfreybilt with this group buy, aside from a t-shirt they are sending me as a thank you. This is one of the first 5th gen 4Runner products, so I just wanted to help them out as a new possible vendor and get the 5th gen group here another product to choose from.

I have been watching this, I may be interested in one for my Expo Trailer. I'm running 34 series Optimas in all of our vehicles, so this would not work in my trucks.

I'm in for GB if I can get dimensions, I want a optima 31 deep cycle just need to know if the cage will mate well :)

EDIT: Battery specs:
Length: 12.19 in
Width: 6.56 in
Height: 9.38 in

Took some measurements. Keep in mind, this is on an installed cage, so not super accurate.
Length: 13.25 in
Width: 7 in
Height: 8.5 in

If anything, you can obviously use longer hardware to bolt the top plate to the bottom part of the cage, but overall it will fit. There is a good bit of thread left on the 4 bolts that hold the top part in my case, so you may actually be fine right out of the box.

Thanks Okki! I was trying to find the battery you have to grab the specs off it and was only able to find was a:
Black shelled Diehard 31:
Height (in.): 9.5
Item Weight (lbs.): 57
Length (in.): 13
Width (in.): 6.8

Better a little big as I know it will fit, than too small.

Count me in. :)

I updated the list on page 3. Mine is a blue bottom/grey top diehard platinum 31M. Details on it are in my build thread

Ok guys... Sorry for the delay. That's what a 2 week road trip will do to you. Peltfreybilt is at mMoab Rock Therapy, so they are not able to update the advertising image as easily, but the group buy will kick off the first week of June. If you have any questions in the mean time, please feel free to contact them directly. Satin and Tyler have been very responsive to me.

If I don't hear anything from them over the weekend, I'll reach out on Monday.

Again, sorry for the silence, but I was enjoying the Overland Expo and Moab a little too much :-)

No worries man, decompression is super important. It had been a few weeks an I thought I would send out a ping. No rush just curious.

Hope you had fun :)

4257 miles of fun :thanks: :thumb3: Learned a lot at the expo and had fun in Moab.. just needed more time .... well.. everywhere.... Going to do write ups in my build thread over the next couple weeks.

Just got off the phone with Tyler and I should have the details for the group buy some time tomorrow. I will post a new dedicated thread for that with the list of people that have expressed interest at that time. Looks like your hard earned money is about to find a new home and your trucks about to get a new primary battery cage :hungry:
