Time to get this started. I have an '06 Limited V8 Shadow Mica.

I'm currently sitting at 117,xxx miles and bought it approximately a year and a month ago with 90K (one owner all records).

This will be a slow build as I do have a little one around which kills the mod money lol.

So I'll list the goals and what is here/on the way.

The plan is to go slow and not go broke. Some things or goals may change along the way.

I'm a busy guy and work keeps me re****ed busy with long hours and short nights. Right now I have a co-worker who has a shop with lift and all tools that he's going to get me in to. So I should be able to make quick work of the suspension and other parts.

Hoping I can get in there next week to get the body lift, suspension, UCA's, and wheels on. Then get an alignment. After that prepare for my tax return and get in contact with DeMello.

I don't currently have a garage and living in Chicago it's not easy to work on a car. Plus this is my DD so as I said, thing will go slow on the mods until I transfer or move and get a garage.

The headlights I plan on doing on some vacation time. Some may say the angel eyes are a bit much and I was never a fan of them unless they were on a Yammy superbike or BMW. After seeing DarkKnight's 4R I fell in love with the look. I've done headlights before and know I can save a lot of money if I just do them myself. May add some red demon eyes into the projectors also. I'm a gun nut and android nut so you may see a holster or two mounted eventually into the 4R for an H&K USP or the likes. Also would like to build a rear cabinet/storage, throw some foam in it to put an SBR AR15 (IL get's SBR's starting tomorrow) along with recovery gear.

Still undecided on a which winch to go with. Also need the windows tinted.

I will have for sale my stock Limited Wheels (pitted and paint peeling) along with Destination LE 265/60/18 tires in excellent condition. Along with NIB Spidertrax 1.25" spacers that I ordered which no longer need since I bought the wheels.

Anyways here's some pictures. I'm not the greatest at taking lots of "in progress" pics when I mod my vehicles as I normally am short on time and just want to get done, but I will try my best.

Thanks. Had the same wheels on my '07 Screw FX4....sadly which was brought to an end when an Audi A6 rear ended me while I was sitting still and she was traveling at approximately 60-70mph....

Looking fwd to sharing this build with you all.

Thank you. Really was tempted to go with the resi shocks/coilovers but honestly I don't do high speed runs and the resi's would just be for the bling factor and I try to remain function over form. W/ that said I may be transferring to the west coast or the southwest w/in the next few years. By then the build may have to change a little bit if I begin living around a desert.

Icon rear springs showed up today. :flypig:

And tomorrow the rest of the suspension components should be here. w00t!

ETA: Sold the spidertraxx spacers I never used. With that money thinking about ordering a Gobi Ladder. ADV4X4 is having a sale on them for $189 and this would help me greatly in cleaning the top of the 4R.

I hear ya. The garage I park in at work is 7'0" in height. Not sure if I'll be able to still park there or not. If not, no biggie. I'll just ride the El/Brown line.

Right now have debating just paying for someone to install the suspension. Being able to use the coworker's shop deal may not pan out for a bit and I don't have the patience to wait til it warms up to use it.

Secondly I could easily do this outside on my own if it wasn't 20 degrees out. Looking at Ashland Tire and Auto. They have amazing reviews on Yelp and pretty close to me. (W/in a mile). Sorry to disappoint about doing it myself but man, Chicagoans understand how hard it is to get a freaking garage in the city.

Can't wait to leave this corrupt cesspool. Just here for the job.

4boer2, if you have any ideas of a garage w/ tools I could use, shoot them my way. (most of my heavy duty tools are down at the parents farm also...no room to store them up here)

More parts showed up today. Mainly suspension and not pictured are extended bumpstops (for free since I spent a **** load with Wheeler's)....the Spidertrax spacers are already sold but UPS got here so late it looks like I'm going to have to mail them out to the buyer tomorrow morning.

I've got enough decals now that I won't need to buy the supercharger. :bigok:

Also not pictured is some grease for the Camburg UCA's.

Still looking for a more solid place to install all this stuff. WabFab extended rear links should be here Monday. Found a place that installs suspension lifts,etc but waiting back to hear a quote on installation (just in case I can't do this myself due to no garage...plus I could knock out the alignment while they installed this stuff...they don't do body lifts though so I'd still have to do some of it by myself).

Anyways, on to the goodies.

I'm not fully unboxing this stuff as I have a little 3 year old running around. Also almost pulled the trigger on some All Pro lower and upper rear arms today but needed to make the g/f happy so I bought her a new iPhone 5.......****in iphones...hate'em (had to do it off contract since we're both on unlimited verizon plans. In other words BOHICA buying off contract.

I really like your idea of going "slow". :becky: You've already bought 85% of your planned build with the last bit being purchased during the next 6 months. You are off to a great start and I can't wait to see the end result. I really like that tire size in the Duratracs, so much that I almost bought 18s just to run them but decided to stick with 17s. I would also love to have the Demello and CBI rear combo but that's just a little too much $$$ for me to justify right now. Although I do see some sliders in my near future...

You should having plenty of room as long you don't plan on adding a roof rack. Even then, you'll prob still barelyclear depending on which type you go with. With my 33s and larger lift height (40" at front fender...coilovers showing ~2" thread), I measured around 75" to the top of my factory SE roof rack. My lift was cranked up really high so i'm assuming yours will be around the same total height with the 1" BL.

One thing about it, the "E" range Duratracs with the Addicts are about 90 to 100 lbs a piece. My MPG is gonna love that lol. But who builds awesome rigs or souped up muscle cars only to complain about the MPG's!?!?!!?

Gotcha...I must have missed that part. Yea it takes a while to find the time for an install. The worst part is having them laying around and having to imagine them installed.

My 285/70 STTs weigh the same as your Duratracs, 58lbs. You should be getting around the same MPG hit as me given your wider contact patch (295 vs 285) but easier rolling tread (AT vs MT). Of course that's splitting hairs and, as you said, these aren't exactly MPG-conscious builds.
