Spent yesterday installing the new toytec lift. Had to cut the old shocks in the rear off. Didn't have enough time to install the rear brake line or the new CV axles yet.
Before with 2.5" daystar lift
After with 2.5" front and ~3.5" in the rear
Here she is next to my buddy's taco and 98 4runner
I removed the rear sway bar link completely. So far the driving isn't very affected. Any reason I should replace it? I put new sway bar links up front.

Also, we tried to install the 1" diff drop I ordered from 4crawler and it wouldn't fit. Someone please let know if I'm missing something.
The bolt on the left is supposed to be the new bolt the spacer goes onto, the bolt on the right is the old one. The new bolt is way shorter so how will that work?!

Time to update. Fixed my frame. ordered eastwood internal frame coating, rust encapsulator, and extreme chassis frame paint. Cut out all old rust:
Then dropped the gas tank and did tons of prep work. Painted inside the frame (no photos) and sanded the whole frame, rear axle, uca's, etc. Also cut out any rust we could find. Here's the big chunk:
Welded in new metal
Then cleaned it up
Then painted it all with rust encapsulator. Went over that with extreme chassis paint. Also installed my tundra brakes in the process. Put the calipers on the wrong side because they aren't marked and the pedal kept sinking to the floor. 2 days and 2 bottles of brake fluid later we realized the calipers were on the wrong sides. Now she stops on a dime.

Then my buddy welded up my sliders. He did all this work at an amazing price. If you live in the central KY area and need some fab work done PM for his info.
Got them primed today to keep from rusting. I'll post up when the weather warms up and I get them looking good.
Does anyone have input on my question above about my diff drop from 4crawler?

Nice work buddy. Keep the ball rolling. Did you get your cb tuned yet? Nice to see some of those parts going on the rig. I know that T-Tec lift wasnt helping you out in the back of your truck. Nice work on the rust. You've been putting your time in.
No mystery on the diff drop buddy. Your bolts need to be longer to make that happen. Shoot the photo of this over to the 4-crawler guys and ask them. It's a fact, you can't lower a diff with shorter bolts. Did they get you the spacers that you need to go with it?

rig looks sick man.. the only thing i can't cosign is the megawarrior. it's just too wide. not that i'm a yakima hater, i run a load warrior myself.

Thanks man its coming along slowly. I'll email that pic to 4crawler and see whats up thanks for the input. I did get the spacers however.
Thanks man. I'm really glad I got the mega warrior it looks way better with the new lift but it is very wide. I plan to replace it with a custom rack soon.

Just got back from wheeling in TN with Taco721. It was awesome. In July, doing the same park again if anyone wants to come join.

I love that area. My mom lives just past that sign on Norris lake. Very beautiful and tons of wheeling!
Yeah man I've heard that a lot. It's named after my old truck an 86' soft top 4runner.

Well I guess this is going to be worthless if you sell her but I would take the 4Runner over the Taco.
One thing, That fake "Hi-Lift" you have. Might want to trade it in for the real deal. I made this mistake and paid for it. It honestly is one of the best 100 bucks I ever spent on the Runner. It is a very cheap price to pay to recover it if you have to use it. The other brand I had only pulled off one use and it was done helping out a guy stranded out in the middle of the desert on 395 in CA.

Update: I went to Ohio and bought a gnarly 2008 Tacoma double cab 4X4 with 85K. The dealer went out of business the week I bought her so the state is reclaiming the truck much to my dismay. Here she is:
Once I found out I was loosing the truck I went out and bought a 2012 Wrangler Sport with only 20K miles.
Very stupid purchase so I brought her back to the dealer the next day. Very expensive and stupid mistake on my part. However, I am back in my 4runner ready to continue her legacy.

I'm glad you returned the Jeep, wise choice. I'm wondering how the state to reclaim the truck that you bought several months ago?

From what I am being told by the district attorney in Ohio is the dealer who sold me the Taco was shut down by the state. They seized his assets. The dealer didn't purchase the truck they only put down a down payment to a third party company and sold me the truck cheap before they had to pay full price. Well, the dealer got shut down before they could get the title so now Ohio is taking the third party company and the dealer to court. It's a mess. They cannot locate the title so they are just buying the truck back for what I paid.
