Gotopless Build

From what I am being told by the district attorney in Ohio is the dealer who sold me the Taco was shut down by the state. They seized his assets. The dealer didn't purchase the truck they only put down a down payment to a third party company and sold me the truck cheap before they had to pay full price. Well, the dealer got shut down before they could get the title so now Ohio is taking the third party company and the dealer to court. It's a mess. They cannot locate the title so they are just buying the truck back for what I paid.

I guess that makes sense, even though it sucks. At least you're getting back what you paid. Hopefully you didn't put anything into it!

Sucks what happened to you 1st Gen. I've been trying to find one in good shape around here for a while now, and no luck.

Yeah man I've been through it with my trucks. Fortunately I never sold the 4runner but she has been sitting since December and I didn't put anything into the Taco until I got the title. Once I found out she was going to go back to the state I put her in the drive way until they come to claim her.

Now that I will be back in the runner here are the plans:

1. New front Axles from a T100
2. Replace all fluids. (Diffs, trans, engine oil)
3. Replace rear bumper with a tube tire swing out
4. Install a Jeep Wrangler rear bench seat in the back for 3rd row seating.
5. Timing belt
6. New head gasket
7. New battery

Glad to hear you got rid of the heep and kept the 4runner. Shitty situation on the taco though, I love a nice Tacoma. We still need to meet up and go wheeling sometime! KyKrawlers is having a stocker no locker ride coming up at Slade on the 31st of this month. I'm gonna try to make it as long as I can get off work.

Hey brother! I'd love to go to the stocker no locker ride. Hit me up with more details. You taking your fj?
I might be able to keep the tacoma. It's been a battle in court but it can get solved I think. My fiancé had a TC that just bit the dust so I might give her the taco....there is nothing sexier than a woman driving a tacoma.

I have been wanting to get that done. I wanted to see how well the liner would hold up on the fender flares and rocker panels before putting it on the body.

so you're selling the Tacoma that State of Ohio was supposed to repo due to dealer shutdown? Don't think I saw an update on that scenario. Also, why sell the runner, or potentially sell it? The last few posts on selling vehicles have me baffled... :wtf:

Do you have any more info on the T100 Axles. This is the first I have heard of it.

Thanks,

Ohio has a fund set up for consumers who get screwed over. Originally they were going to take the truck and cut me a check but I talked them into letting me keep it. My thought was to trade it and possibly the 4runner for an expo rig but my fiance wants to keep both. She loves the taco!
I have been told by several people that T100 axles will fit. They are much bulkier and stronger. If they don't work, I'll just give them to my buddy who has a T100.
I will post up once I replace the axles.

I'm getting the 4runner ready now for a camping/wheeling trip for tonight! It's me and my 6'2" cousin sleeping in the back. Things might get a little cramped...
