GottabeTRD's Build Thread

Rebuilding them is a bit expensive. Its typically 125 per coilover and you have to ship them to CA if there isn't a reputable shop near you. He did say they were only 1.5 years old though. Might want to also see what spring rate the coils are. Its a great deal if everything is in good condition.

Here are the coilovers which have 625 lbs coils. http://www.wheelersoffroad.com/9504camburgcotaco.htm

I'm not really a sticker guy but some reason I got me a new sticker... It was cheap, and I sometimes fantasize my 4runner being involved in a zombie situation, being all armored up like Blcktpsgsr's. The back loaded full of assault rifle's killing zombies and stuff. sounds like much fun!

I haven't decided where i'm gonna put it yet suggestions??

haha i love it! I was actually looking at that same sticker on ebay! i might get red:) i say put it on the rear side window of the cargo area !

yeah thats what i was thinking myself. i almost got the red one too but decided to make it more stealth. but yeah that guy on ebay is super cool. It shipped way fast too

haha the sad thing is I'm not even fully prepared in that field. I have this:

but I'm not gonna get that far with only this.

I have a couple more guns at my parents house like a 30/30 lever action, and a 30-06. but i'm pretty sure I'm gonna need more fire power for sure!

here are some more shots of the darker tint. I just did 20% in the front. Im crossing my fingers i can find someone to pass it when inspection comes around. I do love it, now i can pick my nose in peace!

haha no, maybe if i was a cop or something but yeah I was going for more of an OEM look/style; i'm getting old and trying to keep a low profile.

I am gonna build a new set of projectors eventually, and I have a huge re-model idea that nobody has done that i know of. I may integrate some white LED DRL's too kinda similar to the FT-86 concept. But yeah that's gonna take lots of money and time which i have neither.

Well I call dibs on ur projectors u have now when u wanna sale I wanna BUY!! I am to big of a chicken **** to mess with my headlights and try to do the retrofit

Ahem!.

I called dibs on those long ago! Lol you can settle for 2nd dibs.

Looking good dude, im liking the recent photos.

thanks Rip! your truck keeps making my shopping list longer. I hope i can follow those shoes some day. What i would do to have a lift and a SC. oh man the things.... But yeah.. anyway, you for sure have first dibs on these. I almost bit the bullet and started to order some parts but then textbooks were nasty expensive this year :barf:

T4rex, I think i told you this already, I get very very nervous on every project i've done, this one was tough but only because i didn't give myself enough time. The hardest part was taking the glass off. If you can motivate yourself enough for some lovely lovely light output like this:

you will want to do it. Something about building something unique for your truck. its good stuff.

thanks guys! and Rip that's what i thought too. This thing is pretty cool, you can make it any color pretty much, so if one night i'm craving pink, i may just go pink...

Dude first off awesome build thread. I like all the little things you've done and all the little detail you put in all your writeups. I bought the black led tails because of this thread, and I know we talked through pm a few months back about them but I love the look of the led tails during the day and obviously the cool look at night. Also I followed your write up on how you attached the led third brake light with the original bulb still attached, and it worked perfectly with no abs light, so thanks man! Just wanted to post on how cool your new kenwood head unit looks in your runner. It matches everything perfectly. You should take a pic of the head unit with the key color as red and have the display as white..so just opposite of what you have now. I bet that would look bad-ace too!

I appreciate everything man! It means a lot. Sometimes I wonder why i put so much time in to a truck that has so many miles, but then I come here and am reminded of all the potential.

thats great you tried the 3rd LED brake light trick. It's so easy and here people are buying resistors and a bunch of stuff that makes it sound so complicated.

I've tried the color swap your talking about on the deck and it does look pretty sick, Right now I have it on a cycle cause all the cool colors. there are so many, it's just crazy fun to play with haha. But yeah I'll snap a pic of it like that when i get a chance. Thanks again though man
