Got Near Rended today

so i was driving (obviously) and i was making left hand turn at a light that was turning yellow, i was already in the intersection when it turned yellow and then red... You would think i would have the right away to get the hell out of the intersection so thats what i did

well hommo douche bag making a right turn in front of me is too busy smiling and being a BAD WORD i cant say on here. and not paying attention. this guy tries to turn right, right in front of me as im turning.. like he can squeeze through or something. so i had to slam on my breaks and the lady behind me hits me. she was driving a sequoia and luckily didn't ht me that hard, but hard enough to break the tail light... i cant see any other damage but the tail light so we may just go under the table on this, she already said she would write me a $200 check for the tailight so im thinkin LED tailights? :bravo:

im getting the smoked for sure, ive just gotta look up which ones to get there are so many lol! kinda crazy how things work out like that haha. i thought i was gonna have to put the LED tails behind me for a while.

and yeah i couldn't even see a scratch on the paint. i think i got lucky. I almost wish i got hit on the oger side so i could get a new piece for my bumper too. but o-well

Yeah that worked out well for sure! You thinking smoked+chrome or clear+black then smoke? I vote for the latter.

I have secretly been hoping I get rear ended so I can get a CBI standard or SS bumper, but not hoping too hard to incur bad karma. haha!

i was going to say that but i didnt want to seem like a jerk ahahah. hopeing someone rear ends you so you can get money from em. but its true...

haha yeah i was secretly wishing someone would hit me on the other side so i can get that dent fixed lol. I never thought it was possible to just hit a tail light. i got pretty lucky. so LED tails will due for me

as for the color yeah man i got the check already and now im trying to decide on which color. i like the black housings but then smoking them... im not sure im a fan of the satin look or not. plus i want as much light output as i can get, espessialy with the reverse lights

If you do go that route, all I can say is do not use the rustoleum lens tint spray, use VHT nightshade. I wish I would have.

You have those super bright V-LED's reverse lights right? I don't think even strait black paint will block those out!

haha thats true they are way bright and the more you talk about this the more im drooling over those black ones. i was thinking on tryng the BlackShadow paint over the tail lights to tint them i guess my only worry now would be the lights pealing or something. didn't you sand yours?

Yeah.

Before: 1000 grit and wipe off dust.

Tinting: Do light to medium coats 15 mins apart. Let dry 45mins-1hour+ after final coat.

Clear coat: First, 1000 grit and wipe off dust. Sanding can take off some of the tint so maybe do an extra coat while tinting. Same process of spraying cleat coat. Then polish it or something when that dries.

cool man i think you just convinced me on this i think this will look better on my tuck. the smoked ones IMO look better on lighter colors So i bid on some of the black ones. i trying from a guy called ctrusa. $135 for them and free shipping. gotta love it!

by the way man did you use a matte clear on yours?

Kinda lucked out on that one man! Same thing happened to me about 5 years ago!

I had this ding in my rear bumper that bugged me....one day I was walking to my truck and thought to myself: "Wouldn't it be cool if someone rearended me and I got a new bumper out of the deal!"

About a week later, I lend my mom my truck so she could go shopping. I get back to her place from Home Depot with my dad, only to find the rear end of my truck completely trashed! Mom accidently mistook the gas pedal for the brake pedal while backing into her spot when she got home, and slammed the truck into her deck! I had to replace the entire rear quarter panel, rear hatch, driver side tail light, and you guessed it.....rear bumper! The entire repair cost came out of my dad's pocket, and to this day, he calls the vase my mom bought that day, as "The $5000.00 Vase"!

Moral of the story: Be careful what you ask for! HA HA!

but yeah Ive been wanting these LED tails for a while but with part time work it was far wout of my reach. Im excited i can get them now. i may have extra to get some LED blinkers too

One thing I forgot to mention, make sure the brand is Eagle Eyes, its the only good aftermarket brand for LED tails.

Let me know if you find a nice set of the LED blinkers for these tails. Because, as im sure you know, the only LEDs on these are the brake lights themselves. All other lights are still bulbs.

Geez you and me think alot alike! First the reverse lights now this! Your lucky you bought yours on that coupon when i got em they didnt have that i wasnt too happy when i saw that haha. Ive been wanting those for my blinkers for a while now... they are the only thing left from having a complete LED conversion... haha. Well besides the taillights but those are the housing so i consider that different.

Sorry dont want to thread jack but... you dont have to wire in resistors for the blinkers anymore. V-LEDs carries an electronic flasher which removes the hyper flashing but still allows you to keep parking light flash confirmation.
Blinkers are definitely next on to do list since i have clear corners now

Thats nice to know! I'm interested to see how you like those turn signals, are you doing the front as well? I have heard a lot of complaints about the light output of some led blinkers hopefully these work out.

yeah man they haven't done the 50% off in a while i think they are still working on restocking the shelves. The LED reverse lights are awesome i freaking love them, These blinkers have some pretty good reviews. i think even the $20 ones do too. I would wait for the coupon codes though they have them coming every week or so.

last code i know of was 20% off $100 the promo code was "20OFF100"

but yeah i want to switch all my blinkers and from my knowledge you just need to buy that $14 flasher unit and your good. I kinda need the extra money so i may wait.

This broken light is killin me though! i gotta wrap it in some ghetto light tape for a while... owell those LED tails will be sweeet and im siked i got them for free!
