GPS antenna cable connector questions

All, I'm thinking of getting a GPS antenna splitter so I can wire in my Delorme Inreach inside the 4Runner so I get better reception. That being said, I've got a couple questions:

1. Is the connector a standard GPS din connector on the back of the head unit?

2. Will I have any issues running two devices off one antenna?

The connector is NOT a standard connector, unless you remove the outer plastic clip, and its possible that it still may not work.

There's a few threads about gps antennas and modding the 4 runner's wiring for other things, but running a gps splitter is not a recommended thing to do.

If you're familiar with how a gps antenna works, its not just an "antenna" but a complete powered amplifier and antenna combined into a chip, this means there is power going to the antenna for it to work. You will need a true gps dc power block splitter to do this correctly, and I'd say it would just be much easier and just as cost-effective to just add a 2nd gps antenna to the vehicle. this way, you can run both at the same time.

Anyways, find some of the previous talk about gps wiring and antennas, there's lots of photos to determine connector types and other stuff.

Yes, I was planning on using a GPS splitter that's used for aviation. I'm aware of the power requirements ect, just was hoping to not add infrastructure in order to get the signal boost for the Delorme Inreach. I'll take a look at the other threads too.
