Why lift a 2wd is what I'm assuming you're asking? 99% for looks. To be honest, I do not like "soccer mom" look of a stock 5th gen 4Runner. It's just too bulky and squatty for me. Looks too "on-road" with it's street tires.
Dude, you're buying a 2wd. It IS "on-road". If you want people to think that you're all rugged and capable and offroady, why not buy a 4wd and actually take it off road once in a while? To deliberately buy a giant two wheel drive truck that will never see dirt in it's life is silly. To lift it and upsize the tires so that people will think it does see dirt is beyond silly.
I seriously don't get that. If you want people to think you're all rugged and offroady with your big truck, for gods sake get the four wheel drive and go be rugged and offroady with it. Otherwise you're nothing but a poser, and that's lame.
