From June 16-July 13th 2018 Katie and I will be making a documentary on the Great Western Trail, one of the 16 designated National Millennium Trails, it spans 3174 miles from the Mexican border in Arizona to the Canadian border in Montana, the vast majority on dirt. So far there's only 250 miles of pavement and most of that is through Grand Teton National Park. The total elevation gained over the route is 356,807 ft!
We're looking for people who would like to join us for either the whole thing or just parts. Whichever you have the time/interest for. It will be a mix of medium-hard difficulty trails and forest service roads requiring sliders as a minimum for some of the AZ trails.
Fuel range of 300 miles on dirt is mandatory as opportunities to fill up will be few and far between often with no bail out options.
It looks like we will be the first people to do this route in in a truck (parts of the GWT are popular on motorcycles).
