Grill Guard

Has anyone purchased a grille guard from Hunter Truck Wholesale or Popularlink (popularlink is the website)? I was wondering on the fit of the grill guard since it is considerably cheaper ($239) for a black powder coated. Also, I have sent them multiple emails with no response. The only thing I can find on this company is that a Tundra owner bought one and he liked it for the price.

Don't get powder coated, it will rust in no time. Get the stainless and replace the hardware to stainless also!

The black grill guard would look better on mine since i have a black 4runner. Would it still rust quickly if we don't have much snow/salt on the road? There are very few cars with rust around here.

the rust would start in the places where the powdercoating gets chipped. Salt would facilitate the corrosion but rust would start regardless of salt/snow.

Personally I'd still go with black. Easy to touch up and re powder coat or paint if ness.

If I get one I'll have it color matched to the truck .

Stainless is better , much better for durability , to much bling for me .

Well, the black on black will look good and i figured it would be easy to touch up. Also, like you said SS is to much for me. If i ever upgrade the wheels/tires, i might try to find some black rims and tint the windows and go for the whole David Hasselhof / Knight Rider theme.....ha...

Great fit? That guard look like it's too big IMO and there's others that hug the lights better by far. Those guards look liek they are a generic fit for more than just 4Runners.

I have the Hunter grill guard for my 2006 4runner. Great fit and great price. check out the pic.

No offense , but that thing looks huge. The wings by the headlights look out of place.

Can't stress this point enough. No matter how good it looks at first, it will rust. Why go through the expense and time of sandblasting and refinishing a cheaper piece when a painted SS will last as long as your truck.
