Grinding the Tundra caliper to fit stock 16" wheels...

I just bought 199's to totally avoid the grinding issue. Not worth it to me.

Your current 5 star wheels will fit both caliper choices.

I got calipers, rotors, pads from a wrecked 01' Tundra. I heard the '01 was compatible with it's 199mm's and no grinding necessary. I think they changed the design in 2002 for the tundra, so I can't vouch for compatibility from any other year.

The 2001 199mm calipers are straight bolt on, no mods. I have the 16" wheels.

5-spoke (star) will absolutely fit. I have a 2000 limited as well and put in the 231s without issue. You'll need to grind down the dust shield.

I just went to the shop I bought the wheel/tire combo from and told them I needed "ET " style lug nuts. They fixed me up. The type of ET you need depends on the type lug nut u have now, ex. Acorn, conical, etc.. They cost be about $1.50 ea.

I still think the front studs are too short, without any spacer.

These lugs i have "reach thru" the spacer ( or more like a shim since it is so thin) so they engage the same amount of threads.
I DONT like these type spacers, but i have to live with it right now, no issues in over 30k miles.
I'll probably just upgrade to a wheel that clears the 231's when i get ready for new tires.
