My headers are arriving wednesday. Group buys such as this, especially with custom-made products, takes time. Jason and Doug Thorley have given us regular updates when there are things to report so I have no regrets jumping in on these headers.

I was originally told 6 weeks. By next Monday we will be at 14 weeks :mad2: ... I have moved on. I understand patience, but this absolutely ludicrous, especially for $1500+. Like I said I moved on.

Oo Ooo! 2 of those texts are mine! Lol. Yeah I’m super ready to get all my stuff, but I’m not gonna throw Jason under the bus over it.

It’s for sure a battle to maintain patience with everything, and I wouldn’t blame anyone for being upset. For a short time, I was tempted to just buy a regular set of long tubes and then sell these Premium ones when they finally showed up, so I fully empathize. I was expecting to install these over Thanksgiving break, so it’s not been quite as “6-8 weeks“ as advertised, but that’s on manufacturing (DT) more than anything, and I doubt anyone wants to rush a premium-material product then turn around and receive poor craftsmanship on it.

Zero chance any of us would have the opportunity to convince DT to make these without Marfy’s persistence about the not-quite-100%-stainless nature of the old design and Jason liaising/organizing for the community here.

All that being said, OMG WHURS MAH HEADERS?! lol

Would have been perfectly fine with the timeline and a 20-30% down payment w/ remainder charged at shipping had the initial conversation been 12+ weeks vs. 6-8.

The initial expectation setting was poor at best. There were multiple times the lead time was expressed as well as we were told when the group buy was closing when in fact it didn't close for weeks after that.

I look forward to getting a premium product at a discounted price, but after all the waiting, I've missed my Thanksgiving weekend and 2 weeks off at the end of the year opportunity to get these installed so I'm not sure the cost saving really was worth the wait. I guess we'll see how much longer it takes for them to show up, and if the titanium bolts will arrive with them or if I'll be waiting on those too.

I received a vague response when I texted without an answer or acknowledgement to my actual question.

I’ve only seen one person who claims to actually have a tracking number...anyone else get one?

I spent $1500+ with this buy and I’m assuming others spent a similar amount. By my calculations theres likely $30-$50k out there somewhere and a bunch of people without product.

I don’t mind waiting till summer if that’s what I was told, but sadly there’s a real disconnect here somewhere.

If there’s a snag, say so...otherwise what is going on? Shouldn’t they all ship within a few days of one another?

There definitely was a disconnect. Jason, you kept saying the ‘deal’ was closing when it wasn’t. Was it the ‘minimum’ order that was off? Because you kept trying very, very hard to get more people in to this.

It was kind of funny because I was talking with the folks at Doug Thorley who were saying things weren’t done with this deal, and Jason was on here saying the opposite. I am pretty sure I encouraged people to call Doug Thorley directly. This whole thing has been a bit of a mess.

Some feedback for you Jason: I know you keep wanting credit for ‘organizing’ this, and at one point you indicated to me that you had to put up your own money and wanted credit for that too. let’s be real, you aren’t doing this out of the goodness of your heart. You’re running a business. I’d chalk this up to a learning experience and think about trying to upgrade your ability to handle volume. This was 30 orders and it seems to have been a real struggle. You aren’t even shipping the headers out... also, I get it was just the holidays but to everyone’s point, you set completely incorrect expectations. (It’s closing Monday!!! It’s closing Tuesday!! It’s closing Wednesday!!)

Anyway, hopefully things move faster at this point.

Been following this post in envy for a while. I don't have the premium headers, just the regular thorley version which I'm not going to replace. This dude has helped me so many times with my truck and I've usually called him on weekends late at night and he answers. The original versions of these would have never come out to begin with if it wasn't for him. I was one of the first few that ordered my original ones I think 3 years ago and remember talking with doug thorley on a conference call with Burt. No one wanted to believe there was a need for these and he kept pushing. Companies look at large production numbers of vehicles and the 4Runner is not one of them. Kudos to non stop determination that got me 3 more MPG and saving me a sh!t ton of money not having to re-grear my truck. I thank you Mr Jason.

Am I and my headers forgotten?

So I know my account is still in its infant stages. Long time user of the site. However this is where I make my stand.

My original order for the Doug Thorley headers for my 2003 Limited V8 was back in June. You contacted me and assured me you could for fill the order and ship out to Hawaii. I was then intrigued by this potentially one time offer for a even more badass edition of these headers.

I get it, takes time with all the moving parts but I feel I’ve been more than patient awaiting any kind of update or response on the matter.

Edit 19:47 HST Jason has contacted me following up with shipping information.

So long wait about to be worth it.

Got my headers in just now!!! Thank you so much to Jason for putting this together... Feel much better now that I got a set of truly FULL STAINLESS including flanges for the 4runner. Had to snag me a pair of these because who knows when or if they'll ever make a premium version again. Cheers to everyone who is getting these and shout out to everyone who made this happen...

Have you had any issues with the titanium hardware becoming loose over time?

My mechanic had my truck back after doing the initial install to retorque the nuts, and said almost all of them were loose...

Checking under the hood after a ~250 mile drive, and a couple nuts were totally missing...

Curious if this is isolated to my truck or not.

Hey [MENTION=102822]JONBOY345[/MENTION] so sorry for the late reply... The Titanium Hardware on my vehicle has remained tight and in tact so far and I did not encounter the same issue as you. Sorry to hear you had some nuts go missing though... Did you end up replacing them??

It's an Amazon/ebay world. No satisfaction if it wasn't drop shipped yesterday. I guess 25 years in Florida building construction conditioned me. 2 weeks means 3 months in that business. I can't remember, were these Premium sets even Jason's idea? This all came about last spring when the rust belt issues popped up on a few of those first sets. I'd say we're a little behind schedule, but considering what had to happen logistically as well as DT going to SEMA, Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, and the flanges being back ordered? On top of that, these are just 30 sets out of the dozens of models of exhaust parts offered by DT. It's all good.

I just received 4 o2 spacers. I understand that 2 are used for each of the rear o2 sensors, correct? Just connect the 2 spacers together and each of the o2 sensors?

Fedex delivered them today, Sunday. I received a tracking number in my email last week.
