Brad that makes sense. Some additional questions. On the dac switch, are you wiring the led positive side to the dac parking light positive side? Isn't the dimming circuit controlled negatively?
Also, didn't you need a mic acc input? Doesn't that require a turn on lead?
Finally how did you terminate the twisted pair to a 3.5mm jack for your Kenwood?

Very cool mod, I have been interested in some time with adding a unit that has the homelink, but I really like the door switch option and the ambient LED's. Definitely need to start searching around for this, great write up!:biggrin2:

Wouldn't it be a lot easier to just run a wire over to these lights from the other ceiling light to turn them on when it comes on?

I'm getting it for function. It comes with a microphone (bluetooth) integrated, LED ambiente lights, which are cool and the lights turning on when the door is opened is icing on the cake for me.
Mine came in today, can't wait to install it

Hey guys, this got be inspired to work on this again 
Previously I wired up the sunroof and homelink and did not finish the ambient and door circuit. Cookie pinged me soI wired up the ambient and door circuit on the console side and ran the wiring down the a pillar today.
Here is a pic of it with the ambient lights on.
picture quality sucks because I took it in the dark. If I took it during the day, you wouldn't see the LEDs
I'll try and wire up the "car" side of the harness tomorrow. Cookie, I'll share when I finish the job.

Anyone have a part number for the two metal v-clips that go over the two front tabs of the overhead console? I somehow lost them fixing the map lights, and my temporary solution of using two generic clips from Ace Hardware is failing me every time the damn console is jarred loose.
Searched the forum but can't find any meaningful info. Much appreciated in advance.

I searched too out of curiosity but couldn't find anything. I think the best bet you have is to find one on ebay and switch the clips off of that one onto yours.
A/V1 & Honda_Nos: What wires (color) on the O/H of the Lexus console did you use to get the mic to work? Thanks!
