[H20skier70]

I got everything that I wanted to do, done yesterday. The lift is complete! :rockon: I ended up turning the ball joints around but I still had to adjust the toe in. Which putting some heat on that sucker did the trick. I put a set of my buddies wheels on so I can strip and paint my stock ones before I get the new tires mounted. I really like the look of the black and gold, looks like I'm going to have to start attacking all the chrome emblems on the truck!

After everything was all said and done I took the truck out of the garage for a couple pics and then drove it right back in to finish a couple small things. Now the truck just clicks when I go to start it. :redbrick: I hooked my jumper cables up to the truck and my Camry, that just melted the cables and damn near started a fire. Kind of pissed and tired of throwing money at this thing and not getting to reap any of the benefits. I have a feeling the starter pooped out; but I really hope it isn't, considering the location and ultimate pain in the ass that it is to change.

I am planning to swap the battery from the Camry in to the 4Runner, just to rule that out. If that doesn't work, then my Father in Law is going to bring over some device that they use to check if the starter is bad or something from their repair shop. It might just be an volt meter but I don't know. If the starter is fine then I have no freaking clue what else it could be, since I swapped the relays around last night.

EDIT: Ended up being the battery! Thank goodness!

Got a couple more things done last night and today since it has been so nice out!! Stripped the clear coat off the rims, sand blasted them, and then primed & painted them black. Even soda blasted the center caps and painted them as well. Then I decided on a whim that I was going to Derp the badges, so go that done. Operation Chrome-delete has begun. I think that I am going to go all black and gold so far it looks pretty good. I should have the new tires mounted on the painted rims this week, YAY!! depends on work. Then I can see its final stance. anyways here are some pics of the wheels (through the process) and the badges done.

Couple of updates: Had my wheels and tires mounted a couple weeks ago, they look awesome! I am still trimming, probably going to pull it in to the shop to cut away the body mount this week. The suspect CV Joint I thought I had ended up going out on me this week, so I got that replaced too. It looks like I might have to do the sliders sooner than I thought. I think that my running boards are going to get in the way of the tires off-road. I need to have something for my wife and 5yr old to use to get in and out of the truck. We are going to take the 4Runner up to Silver Lake Sand Dunes this coming weekend so hopefully I will get a ton of pics and see that this thing can do. It's our first camping trip so hopefully all goes well and the kids have fun. There is supposed to be a pretty big group going up there for the "Pre-Runner Invasion" and some these guys have some serious rigs. Hopefully I can keep up!

New Flag mount. I didn't get a good pic of it but I cut it out on our water-jet from 6061 Alum then milled and drilled/counterbored some holes. I attached it to steel frame behind the bumper.

Looking great! I need to get new upper strut mounts, mine are rattling like crazy. Then I can get some good offroad time in, once I find some good trails.

I still have some chrome to get rid of on the head lights and fogs. Im thinking I might end up doing the BHLM, but I am concerned that I am going to have a moisture problem after I do them. Still trying to think about it.

Thanks. Just went to autozone and got the VHF night shade rattle cans. Light coats at a distance of 12in gave the best results. It was a pretty easy and cheap mod.

So I have been thinking about doing some Bedliner on the truck. I wanted to get other people's thoughts on doing the whole truck. I found these and they look pretty good, I also am considering tan. There are several negatives, like dragging your knuckles every time you go to open the door, washing, touch-up/cracking, pain in the butt, etc. I am thinking of doing the middle part of the front and rear bumpers black and possibly the roof racks too. Who knows I am still thinking about it.

The contractor I am working for right now, I'm a painting contractor, has a newer Tundra that he has a 4 inch lift, 35's and it is covered in black bed liner. I think it looks awesome personally. It seems to stay clean, but it is rough to the touch for sure. Still, truck would hold up well!

Did you ever decide on bedliner? I'm pretty set on doing mine but waiting for the funds. I have a silver 06 4r and would like to line-x the front and rear bumpers, fender flares and bottom door sections( basically the bottom ring around the 4r

I'll probably just stick with the center sections of the front and rear bumpers. I haven't had a chance since we have been traveling so much this month. Maybe in the next couple of weeks I'll have some down time.

I'm thinking of just going black on all of it and keeping the upper factory paint. It's a little nerve racking because you won't know what it looks like until it's done and then you spent all of that money plus you can't un-do it( without out spending waaay more money)
