H4 headlights questions

i was given a set like this: 8000K HID Xenon 7x6 Diamond Black SEALED Beam Projector Headlights H4 LH RH GF | eBay
anyone ever use this style? do they work good?

If i remember reading correctly, 4000k to 5000k is a good h4 bulb (cant seem to find the thread i read the info on.)

I get 5000k in every set of HIDs I buy. By far the best looking and most practical temperature.

4300k has the most light output. Much better visibility over 5000k IMO (I've ran both). Anything above 6000k is a waste and just annoys everyone else on the road.

Well I found a old dot aproved H4 bulb. (not sure the k of it) put it in & the light output is less than stock sealed beam. So I don't know if these housings are crap or what.

if its the housing that i am thinking of, they probably are smooth in the back of the housing. there is no way of directing the light so it just floods out everywhere. i run these... 200mm H6054 H4 Euro Conversion Headlights Kit | eBay

they keep a stock look, but convert to h4 and they direct the light really well with a good cutoff line
