2007 Toyota 4Runner V6 SR5
I'm mechanically inept. That's a fact up front :0)
Had oil changed at dealer. They came back and said I needed the Drive belt replaced. The rep went on about how this was a major job and I got an estimate of $220 dollars.
Sounded way off to me. Went to a mechanic I trust and he said it was a simple 1-2-3 procedure. Just had it replaced for a total cost or $65 dollars.
He removed skid plate, loosened a bolt, removed belt, put on new belt. Total time was about 15 minutes.
Yup. Dealers! It's their right to charge what they want. It's not OK to tell a customer that a minor job is a major undertaking. That is downright dishonest!
Just want others that are not auto savvy, like myself, to know. Feeling good right now!
