Half doors or tube doors??

I have a parts 4runner, so I have been considering making some half doors on my own. But upon researching, I really like the tube doors that 4xInnovations offer. Add the quick release hinges, which I would want anyway, plus the no-fuss latching, It seems like a better option than spending my time in the garage and trying to make my own half doors.
Any iunput on how long Y'all may have spent making half doors?
I work a long week, 55-60 hours, so my off-time is very valuable to me.
For a quality set of tube doors w/ hinges for $250, it seems hard to see the value in making my own doors.
How have you solved this issue?
I live in Montana and will need to have at doors in winter, but half doors with snap on windows would still be an acceptable, year round option for me.

half doors are nice to keep the mud ans sand from hitting you if your wearing shorts.
i personally have both with quick release pins its a easy and fast swap.

Very happy with my 4xInnovations tube doors. Simle to put on as well. You'll definitely want to paint around the doors to match. it completes the look.

Time is always a factor. $250 is a fair price for tuber's but I could make some sweet ones for $250 with some snap on windows, especially if I already had a donor set like you do.

IMO I like the half doors better for the reasons BV said. Also with whats left of the half door body, you can put in large cargo pockets,cup holders, and even have large speakers with quick release wires so they can be left in them when not in use. As far as quick release hinges, you can mod your spares just as easy or buy some already made.

Again TIME is always a determining factor in whatever we do. I don't have any yet and wish I did but with all the other crap I have left to do on my rig who knows when it will get done.

A guy in my club has tube doors with a piece of plexiglass in the shape of a half door covering up the rest of the space to keep debris out. Plus he can still see through it. Just an idea.

If you already have a set of spare doors, and have the ability to do some minor cutting and welding, do the half doors. :thumb3:
