Happy Birthday and Semper Fi to my brothers and sisters! Busy week for this Devil. Birthday/IED anniversary was the 8th, we have today, and then Veterans Day tomorrow. Beer run time lol!

My Father in Law carried a flame thrower in Korea, never talked about the war until I met his daughter, my wife, and I asked him questions. Very brave man, brave Marine, we both miss him

Not a Marine, but my grampa Ray was in the Canadian military and fought in WWII. He never talked about his time over there and my mom always said it was just something you didn't ask him about. I've educated myself a ton on the world wars in the last couple of years, and it would've been interesting to hear some stories. The old bugger passed away in late May this year just shy of his 98th birthday. He had his mind intact right until the end, and had no qualms about admitting outright that he had a good run and just wanted to call it a day, haha. I wasn't particularly close to him, but I'm always thinking of him this time of year and proud of the fact I have a family member that was in WWII.
