Hard to find Specs, Info & Measurements on 231mm 13WL Tundra Calipers & Rotors

I would like to eventually do this brake upgrade with 231mm 13WL Tundra calipers & rotors, but before I start ordering and buying the requisite components, how can I best determine whether my current wheels (Eagle Alloys series 195, 17x8, 14mm offset, 5" backspacing) and tires (BF Goodrich T/A KO LT285/75R17) will indeed actually fit?

I still have not yet done the Tundra brake upgrade because I am just not sure whether or not my wheels will fit the larger brake calipers. If I can find a buddy with either a Tundra or a Sequioa who will let me try one of my wheels on the front of his truck, then a successful test fit would in turn mean the Tundra calipers would work on my 4Runner with my current wheels, right??

thought I would share this with you guys, i think its a killer deal I will be ordering my kit tomorrow after i got an email back from Powerstop clarifying that they do supply "13wl" casting calipers in the kit.
you get slotted and drilled rotors, thier z16 ceramic pads and 2 remanufactured red powdercoated 13wl calipers, summit racing has the kit for 311$ with an 80$ core charge for the calipers and free shipping

So I searched and I'm sorry if this isn't the place to ask. What is the thread size for where the brake line screws into the caliper? I destroyed my brake lines taking them off the stock calipers so I bought new from advanced auto. Ended up stripping out the thread on the tundra caliper and had to exchange them.

Installation is pretty straightforward. The 231mm calipers bolt into the exact same spot as the stock calipers, and as mentioned before, the hub diameter on the Tundra Rotors is exactly the same as the stock rotors, so the rotors fit snugly right on the 4Runner hub.



Finally, Regarding my wheels:

I am running ProComp model 8069's. They are 16x8's and they have 4" backspacing. The equivalent offset is -11mm. These are one of the few aftermarket wheels that are known to fit over the 231mm calipers WITHOUT WHEEL SPACERS! I am trying to avoid spacers on this rig at all costs, so this made me very happy.

Will a backspacing of 4.25 fit over the 231mm calipers or will only a 4" backspacing?

So I scored some calipers for 50$ mow loooking for some rotors/pads to go with. Im considering these two options.

Ive seen alpt of ppsitives on the brembo rotors. But I have no experience with any of these brands.

Im kinda leaning towards the powerstop kit bevasue you can get drilled and slotted rotors and pads for actually cheaper then the non drilled slotted brembos with the pads.

But I also dont want to be skimping and putting inferior products on my truck. What do you guys think?

I've got the drilled and slotted power stops. They've been working wonderfully for me (~500 miles)

Here's mine I finished it up yesterday. These are junk yard rotors and calipers from a 2004. I really wish I had taken "before" pictures because they were rusted up pretty bad. I spent a few hours with various wire brushes to get them looking decent and then sprayed the rotors and calipers in Duplicolor caliper paint. I rebuilt the junk yard calipers with a Toyota OEM rebuild kit and had the rotors turned after I painted the hub area and outer edges (I did this after painting so I didn't have to mask them off). The pedal was good and firm after I finally got them bled correctly. I love my brakes now. I've been driving around for 5 months with badly warped rotors so I was due. I would recommend this to anyone. I've got $225 in mine.



One of the advantages of running my Spidertrax spacers is that you get a pretty good view of the 231 calipers from the front.

I got Tundra Power Slot rotors from Auto Anything for $92 each with free shipping. Already rebuilt my junkyard calipers and will be installing everything this weekend.

The caliper decals I made in photoshop and had a sign shop print them up for me on some high quality vinyl. I had a few extras made for folks that need them so PM me and I'll mail some out to you. They're cheap and much better than the junk you find on Ebay from China.

I am doing a follow up on the install of the 199mm/ S 13WE caliper. Did the guys that did this upgrade use the S 13 WE calipers, have to put in a T100 Brake booster to keep from having that low/soft pedal feel?
I have only seen one post addressing this part of the upgrade. Why don't you need a bigger master cylinder? With more capacity in the calipers , is a low feeling pedal acceptable ?
Or does that only come into play with the 213mm/S13WL calipers.
Just not sure I want to do this if there is better braking at the expense of poor pedal feel/travel .

I only saw one person complain of that. I can't think of a reason the pedal travel should change. The caliper holds more fluid, but you just put more fluid in the system so it "should" balance out. I'll know later today as I'm installing mine when I get back from the gym.

You guys can add the Level 8 MK6 wheels with the 0 (zero) offset to those that fit over the 231mm calipers. I did mine last night and they fit fine. When ordering for the 4Runner I did ask if that same wheel was listed to fit the Tundra and it was so I knew it would work.
