Has anyone done body color matched rock slider *flame suit on*

Hey guys!

My truck arrived a couple weeks ago, and have some C4 sliders eventually coming. I was wondering if anyone had tried painting rock sliders to match the body of the car? Post pics if you have, please.

They get scratched up if you intend to use them. Black is easy to rattle can.

I did it on my FJ back in 07. Had it done with color matched bed liner, it looked great and provided good grip when using the sliders as a step. Went to the FJ summit and peeled most of it off. Had my buddy redo it a few times but it is useless if you are going to wheel.

Yup. Matches the color of my frame.

Powder coating is worthless.

Why is that?

Because it scratches just like paint BUT then it rusts behind the powder coating and flakes off in big nasty chunks.

Paint > Powdercoating on sliders (if you use them).:boink:

If Ibwere you, at least get the sliders back and do the tread plates body matched. If you hate it, all you have to redo are the plates...

I think it would make your 4runner look lower to the ground.

Last week I took my black rattle-can sliders off for sandblasting and repainting, and so many people have asked me what I've done to the truck to make it taller. I'll admit, it looks pretty tall without the sliders.

With a color match, I think you might get a low rider look...

Black rattle can is great, btw. It's very easy to touch up as Lawndart said.
