Has anyone ever re-roofed a 3rd gen?

He's probably right, but I'm not sweating it. We'll see if/how badly I warp the roof when I get back to that project.

Anxious to see the results. I'm hanging on to my parts pile and will have a go at it eventually. This might actually be a good place for silicone bronze brazing. Less heat soak and would still be plenty strong.

I'm going to focus on making some tie-in plates that will weld between the roof rack "doublers" and the sides ( vertical ) surfaces of the roof/pillar structure to give the roof some strength.
