has anyone installed a trans temp sensor

My cluster volt gauge died so I bought a 3 gauge cluster and installed under the radio. Looks very nice. Has oil pressure, volt & temp. I am only using the volt gauge at this time since my cluster has the other 2.
I was thinking of using the temp gauge to monitor transmission temp. Has anyone done this? Wondering if there was an available port on the case. It is an automatic trans.
Many years ago I removed the original cluster with just the speedo, h2o temp & fuel. Installed a 'new to me' cluster with tach, oil pressure & volt gauges. Took a little rewiring but it is much better than the idiot lights on the original.

OR .................. does anyone have a working cluster volt gauge they want to get rid of? Clusters are expensive on ebay.

I don't think there's a port on the trans, everybody I've seen that's done trans temp has put a sensor inline with the hose to the trans cooler in the radiator.

I might have a cluster. 22RE/auto?

Yeah, 22re auto but I think they all came with the simple cluster. I changed mine to the tach cluster.
