Has anyone installed an Aussie Locker in a 5th Gen?

Nope. There is no Aussie locker available for the 8.2 rear diff. You could put one in the front, but it would be odd to be auto locked in front and selectable in rear... Just a very odd combo not to mention the spider gears are pretty weak in IFS 8.0, so ARB full carrier replacement much better choice IMHO....

I've had lunchbox lockers before. They actually work very well, but they're noisy and harsh. If the cross pin diameter is the same between the 8.2 and the 8" or 8.4", the carrier internal width, and the spline count matches, it'd probably work, but there's just not much info available anywhere on the 8.2 dimensions. I've tried to find info online on whether a 4.10 gear set from the 8.4 could be machined to fit the 8.2, but have not found any side by side comparisons with other diffs.
If I found one at a junk yard I'd buy it just to tear it apart and see what's compatible between the various 8" third members, but they're basically nonexistent so far in any cheap source.

Yeah, that wouldn't be a good set up in the front especially daily driving. You'd simply just be asking for it.

Should be fine on a part time system....
I'm pretty sure ARB and Toyota E-locker are the only options for the 5th gen rear. E-locker requires a different (or modified axle housing).

Oh, I thought it meant the front would be locked full time. That's what I was referring to.
