hate the sound of my universal/aftermarket muffler - options?

Does anyone have an idea on which aftermarket or non/OEM muffler is the quietest? I had a whole in my stock muffler and a repair show welded in a cheapo muffler that I figured would sound fine. It doesn't. It is loud, and sounds crappy.

Or, should I try to find a stock exhaust from a 3rd gen and replace the muffler again with that? I just can't spend the $600 or whatever for a new OEM cat back.

I would say get a stock one at a junkyard. Being in SoCal there should be plenty and they should be rust free.

Try to source an Autoparts International catback system. Great fit and sounds close to stock. It isn't stainless but it is painted.
