So, I have posted about the Toyota Fortuner on here before, but I did not realize what a great looking vehicle it is until my current visit to India. Here are a couple of pictures I took and one that is official. A friend of mine owns one here in India and I was seriously impressed with all of the options available as well as its look!

Your opinion- although, I would disagree. This is one of the most popular Toyota offerings in the Gulf (Dubai etc.) and in most of east Asia.

It's related to the 4runner but is actually built on the hilux platform not the hilux surf platform. With 4 engine options, good ground clearance, and decent styling it seems to be a very versatile vehicle.

I really like the Fortuner. I saw a lot of these when I went back home to the Philippines for vacation. I got inspired and promised to get a truck when I get back to the US. 7 months later... Sold my G35 and bought a 5th Gen Trail...

This I don't disagree on and its a very capable SUV. For me as you stated is my opinion but I do find this new body style very lethargic to look at. As if its full of compressed air and about to blow :shrug:

Back home in Europe they do a three door land cruiser which I would buy in a hard beat if it was avaible in the US market. Again my opinion :cheers:

My family in the Philippines just recently purchased a 2nd one. Good looking trucks. From the back they look like rx's with their altezza style lights. Ill see if I can find some pics

Actually I'd argue its just as robust your 4th gen 4runner. I wasn't a fan initially, but work took me to Africa and I picked up a 2012 Fortuner. Its basically a Hilux with a SUV body. They don't sell Tacomas or 4runners in Africa, so Hilux and Fortuners are everywhere. Its a pretty solid truck and actually larger than a 4runner. The first time I parked next to my colleague's 4runner, that surprised me. At the moment I only have a TJM bullbar and FrontRunner roofrack on it, but once it gets a lift and more robust tires I bet its going to be just as capable as my kitted out 2004 Land Cruiser.

I just got back from Africa and saw a bunch of these as well as a ton of other Toyotas that I would take over any US version we can get. Freaking gas stations were selling new Land Cruisers fully geared up for off road! That and being in an embassy city, it was crazy to see the amount of Land Cruisers on the road.

Land Rover lost the crown in Africa, Toyota is now King. Land Cruiser especially. Where I live it is by far the most sought after SUV. A 2012 base model Land Cruiser will set you back US $148k. Aid agencies, military command, diplomats, oil executives and government elites all roll in Land Cruisers here.

I see more 4runner similarities than Lexus RX personally.

Looks like a LX, front end looks like a highlander.

I like the T4R's FJ-ish looking better.
