Have you fed your truck corn? (get it....corn fed?)

Hey,

Got a 2/1, and have positive camber on my wheels...meaning they're pigeon toed \ -- / <- like that. Was wondering if any of you other cornfed lift guys have seen the same thing. My mechanic thinks it might be the lift, and I don't want to pay for a new alignment 2 mo later, if it won't get fixed.

Thanks gents.

Nope, my wheels are straight. I'll see how they look in a bit when i go pick it up, but it will have the 3/2 on it, not the 2/1 anymore.

never heard of that. Did you have an alignment at all after the lift ?

IF PROPERLY INSTALLED I would not think the lift would cause that , but thats the only reasonable explanation.(I guess)

Have you had quite a few issues with this lift ? It seemed like it to me that there was a few things wrong .

Yeah I got an alignment right after. No, no other problems, I did make a post with concern about off roading and durability. But, no I love my lift...just trying to figure out what the issue is, and if its a trend. My mechanic called me to tell me that he saw a 3rd gen lifter higher than mine and that it had the same thing noticeable...so I decided to ask here. I really don't see how I could have installed it wrong...its an incredibly easy process. The ONLY thing is, I REALLY tightened the nut on top of the struts, you know the one you have to hold with a vice grip to stop turning. Also, the 3 screws on top of the strut housing at the very top of the wheel well... I could only torque 2 of them, the last one is way behind the wheel well as wasn't accessible to the torque wrench.

What am I missing? :headslap: How can the coilovers' top three bolts affect the alignment? I get the whole torque/re-torque thing with the CF spacer lift.

If the vehicle had the lift installed and there was no excessive positive camber then the only possibilities are the UCA (Upper Control Arm) or LCA (lower CA) has moved. If at install they aligned the vehicle (which they did) I would speculate they didn't tighten the adjusters on the LCAs properly.

This pic should help...

LOL thanks for the slap on the back of the head. :bigok:

Chris, always a big help! Yeah, I talked to the alignment shop and they said there might be special adujustments they didn't make for the lift, so I'm bringing it back in. Hopefully, they didn't and it will get fixed.

Thanks!

Be sure to let us know how it works out. My guess is it doesn't handle so well now. It should feel more stable in a straight line and in turns when they get it right. Not to mention your tires will wear better.

If you've been driving it more than 150miles I would suggest rotating the tires front-to-back right before they align it.
