Have you folks seen this History CH show?

My buddy told me about this Alaska off-road warriors show. He said there were 2 4Runners on there. Reality shows are not my thing but I gave it a look see. I only watched about half of the most recent episode (I believe 3rd episode). There's a 3rd gen and a first gen in their reality race show. My buddy said at the beginning, they show all the rigs and what was done to them. I'll check out more of it as a guilty pleasure.

1st gen and 2nd gen. The show is BS and no one should use it as reference for offroading or how to do anything. Everyone in it is an idiot and none of the trucks are even mildly built. It's a joke imo and just makes offroaders look bad.

Did you notice when the 1st Gen got stuck and had a flat. They used the Hi Lift on the side steps, cause it doesn't have Sliders. I mean those things have to have folded like tin foil. I feel like some of them are held together with hopes and dreams

The 2nd Gen is SAS'd I believe. However, and this is far from a surprise judging from most of the shows that History has been airing in the past few years, the show is crap.

Over on Expo, all the talk is about how this is perfect propaganda for those who want to close off more public land to off-roaders. Worst practices, no 'tread lightly', people acting stupidly. Not a good public image for our hobby. We'd help ourselves to boycott it so it goes away.

I watch it every sunday. Yeah its a 1st and 2nd gen 4runners. Not a good way to depict the 4 wheeling community but an intertaining show.

When they pick people for these shows they're specifically looking for morons who are going to stir up shit and be entertaining. All the real offroaders got weeded out early in the selection process.

I like the show. I agree it does make us Toyota guys look bad. We are not your normal offroad guys. These are the offroad guys you stay away from. The show is more of a race than true offroading.

The second gen group runs it slow and the right way. They are in last place.

Also they are pretty built up. But nothing crazy. Makes it more fun that way. Would suck if they where all out there in high hp buggys with $20-50k into them. These are everyday guys with normal jobs. They are 33"-37" tired vehicles with lifts, lockers and some are SAS'ed.

I would also recommend that you guys check out this show that aired a while back, all 15 Episodes can be found on Youtube.

They are an expedition crew that travels all over the place with a Taco and an LC. Some pretty good footage with humor, pain, and boozing mixed in.

I watch it. I like it. Not "reality" in my opinion when it comes to wheeling but entertaining nonetheless. Cool to see a 1st and 2nd gen Runner along with that older LC. Goes to show that Toyota dominates the Off Road scene in terms of public image.

They definitely are not treading as lightly as possible but in the first episode the guy with the Rover was really ticked about the guy with the jeep knocking down trees and everything else he was doing. But after that they show them all going through streams and everything else with no regard.
